    Best in Morningside

I lived in Mexico for a couple of years, and I gotta say that out all the Mexican joints I've tried on the UWS, this is the best one for the quality of the food and price. True, it is small, and you will come out smelling like what you ate, but it is worth it to go in and get the Lengua Quesadilla or Carnitas Quesadilla. The horchata is awesome. The waitress Katie and the owner Jorge are awesome. I have actually gone to a couple of other places including the taco truck on 96 and I think the Taqueria's stuff is the best. The red sauce is awesome and they always serve a ton of food. Delivery sometimes takes a bit, because of the number of orders that they. I recommend the quesadilla with any meet, the green enchilada, the carnitas tacos, the horchata, and the chilaquiles for breakfast. Also, they just opened a Middle Eastern joint right next door, that I have heard is also great - Salsa Pasta Y Falafel.

I LIVE RIGHT NEXT 2 THE PLACE!!!

They should have a better sauce for the tacos duros..and add more cheese to it....Like they dont put cheese on the tacos..from the lasttime i recall cheese was the most important thing in a taco. They should totally move to a bigger place its to small

    Delivery Beware

Just received our order after waiting an hour. The delivery man was very polite. Opened up the bag to find a smaller amount of food than expected. The fact that they got the order wrong was the first problem. The second problem was that the food was smashed. Above all, the quality of the food was less than you would find from a street vendor and looked like it has been dropped on the floor. The "chicken" had white spots and the burrito which was supposed to have guacamole actually had an still in tact avocado in the middle of it. My meal was also all mixed together and the "salad" that I paid four dollars for was three pieces of lettuce. I would not recommend ordering from here for delivery.

    Great food!

This is my favorite restaurant around Columbia. By far. They make a great giant burrito along with about anything other Mexican dish you might want. It is a small place, only problem I've seen eating there for 6 years at least.

    some misses on the menu

Overall, it is the best Mexican in the 'hood... There are some misses on the menu tho. The chips are very greasy but OK, but the salsa for the "chips and salsa" order is served in very tiny cups, like 1 oz salad dressing cups... 2 cups for a whole brown lunch bag size bag of chips! They really should be giving at least 4 oz of salsa for that many chips. The cheese, is white Central American cheese and doesn't melt really well. I love the cheese burrito tho, but because of the cheese (tons of it!), quac and sour cream. it basically is always cold.. The chicken in the entrees is not all white meat and don't expect it to be off the bone always. The tacos are still insanely huge, and 1 split up into 3 smaller ones is enough for a whole meal. (get an extra side of tortillas). My most recent order was not plagued by their horrible phone system, so maybe they have improved that! But sometimes delivery can be very very shakey. Burritos are served with 3 salsas, 1 green, 1 red and 1 with onions and avocado, but I usually ask for all red, and they usually ignore it. It's the best around tho, so we all deal with their "issues".

    yummy and cheap

So far this is the best Mexican food I have found in the city. A bit different than what I grew up with in San Diego, but good food at a good price to be sure. Their homemade horchata is awesome.
