Well i love that place , i am at least 2-4 times each month in this place and send all my friends and they love it . its cozy place with great red sangeria and very nice hip crowed i dont understand how some people didnt like the food in those reviews but here what you should order . chorizoss in red wine amazing ... skirt steak with the onion one of the best .. patats bravs very good dish and the list goes on one of the best Tapas in the lower east side

I've been to many tapas restaurants, and this is one of my favorites. A group of 6 of us went, and we can't wait to go back. Great atmosphere, and the food was worth the hour train ride into the city. Everyone was extremely happy with their dishes and the sangria as well. The place got crowded, but we were comfortably sat by the open window, which was perfect in June. The help was a tad slow, but it was a really busy Saturday night. All in all, a really wonderful experience.

I had heard this was a good place. Save your money, not only was the food overcooked and kind of pricey for what it was.. the staff was borderline hostile when we asked some questions. the place itself is really small and the walls open out on the street. lots of people gathered and got very drunk making a lot of noise. It was hard to stand there deciding if you were in the street or the bar itself. Not pleasant, overcrowded, LOUD and HOT... get a new chef, close the damn doors to help with the noise and the heat and make the staff stop acting like they know everything.

Five of us went there for brunch. Each ordered a bloody mary. Everyone complained. When I asked the bartender about it, he became slightly unnerved. Otherwise food, service and atmosphere is nothing special.

Tapeo is a small cozy bar with a great atmosphere. Its great for drinks, especially before a night out, but the tapas def leave something to be desired. They are super small so you cant possibly share them and weren't so great regardless. I would go back but only for drinks.

I brought 5 of my friends from out of town to Tapeo for delicious tapas and a great night out in nyc...too bad we got neither! First of all the waitress was unpleasant and not helpful. She brought out a burnt, black-bottom tortilla espanola and skirt steak that tasted like charcoal-when we told her the tortilla was burnt her response was "It's a tortilla," not knowing where this conversation was going i just replied "right, it is a tortilla but it should not be burnt," her very helpful response was "well does it TASTE burnt?" After the back and forth she finally agreed to take it back and bring us a new one. The entire meal was overpriced, overcooked, and boring - the service was probably the worst part.

Delicious tapas. Service was ok. Bartender not too attentive while we were sitting at the bar. Quick service and ok wine. Very small and dark. Loud music. Might go again for tapas but not with a group.
