What a terrible suprise
After hearing about Tao , For the past few years, I finally had a chance to what I thought dine there.Living in D.C it was my first and now our last time to dine there. After waiting almost a hour after my reservation, and then have poor service, and then just terrible food and being rushed. I am glad to never go back.You wonder why they carry that reputation.

Not even could eat this time
I had a terrible experience at TAO yesterday night. I had my reservation (for 9:15pm), I got there at 9:00pm, and I was waiting up to 10:40, every time I asked someone who identified him self as the Manager, he was telling me that would take just 10 more minutes. It's a shame, I was with a guest from out of town and I had to find someplace else to eat at 11pm! Not coming back ever again. As from previous experience, that food is not that great.....

Service
Went for lunch- it took 2 1/2 hours, waiter was rude, and manager did nothing to help- he just kept speaking into his wrist like a weirdo... way overpriced for quality and service.

Always a good time
I went to dinner last night at TAO for probably the 1st time! Even with a reservation we had to wait for a table. But we didn't mind, they offer 2 bars with great drinks, love the atmosphere! it's a great build up before dinner. The server had great suggestions! We shared a lot of small plates so we were able to really sample the menu. The GIANT fortune cookie for dessert was so cool! never seen anything like that. I will be back soon!!

Dont know what theyre all talking about
I order deliver from them all the time, the food is great, gets here quick, and its cheap! In NYC its a pretty good deal to pay 40 for a steak. I'm not going to lie, probably the best steak ever. BEEF STEAK!

Have never been so disappointed
I decided to take my brother here for his birthday this year. Despite having made a reservation 3 weeks ago, we were given a beeper to wait for a table (the point of reserving a table again?) After waiting 10-15 mins after out reservation time, I went to ask the host about if he's doing something for our table and he proceeded to bite my head off telling me how it's very busy and he is doing something and that he didn't appreciate ME insulting him! Never in my life have I been so taken aback by someone's reaction! He shouldn't be in this role if he can't handle it! The food was ok, it is overpriced and the service is nothing to write home about. I certainly will not be going to Tao anymore after my experience last night. The host's behavior was completely uncalled for!

You have to be kidding-this isn't a restaurant
Went for my best friends B-day. Ordered wine, 2 bottles of champagne, apps and entrees ahead of time. Order came out completely wrong, had men (told they were mangers) speaking into their wrists like the KGB, some guy with bongos starts pounding away while we were talking and server had no clue about the menu. Quality of food was a joke. Who runs this place?
