    AMAZING!

I go to NYC a couple times a year. The one thing I am always sure to do is make my reservations for Tao at least a month before I go there. It is the best restaurant I have ever been to!!! Try the kobe beef! Great atmosphere! Giant Buddha statue!

The Best Lunch Bargain in All Manhattan

I still cannot believe what an amazing deal this place is for lunch. For only $20.04, you get an appetizer, main course, and dessert - the food is excellent and the portions big. The hoison duck spring rolls were not that impressive, but for starters try their superb vegetable dumplings or tender chicken satay. If you're a carnivore, get the wok seared New York sirloin, a big heap of sliced steak served with mushrooms and potatoes in a savory light sauce - this one dish goes for $25.00 on their dinner menu - to get this plus appetizer and dessert for $20.04 is a steal! I tasted my friend's vegetable pad thai, which was very good, though I have yet to sample their salmon or kung pao chicken. Dessert is the real dazzler - chocolate raspberry wontons with vanilla ice cream is shear decadence, a creative and richly satisfying end to a great meal. On the lighter side, their sorbet and fresh fruit is very nice also. The decor is a knockout (how about that giant Buddha?), the bar area sleek, and the food first-rate. All in all, a real find.

    Delicious bargain at $20.04

I must admit I was intrigued by this place after watching Sex & the City, but the food was surprisingly good even the $20.04 special. Portions were large and the setting was tres Asian. It can be touristy, but if you ignore them and concentrate on the food you'll be pleased.

    Not bad at all

I've been to Tao on several occassions. We've always made reservations so no wait time was incurred. The drinks are fabulous. The Stone fried Kobe beef is succulent. The only dish I didn't enjoy was the filet with udon nooodles, but they took it right back no questions asked. Everything else, salmon, sea bass, sushi, salad, was delicious. I'm sorry for the people who didn't have a wonderful dining experience and find it a little hard to believe.

    The Sea Bass Rocked!

Yes, the atmosphere is loud, but that's the price you pay for being in a trendy NY spot. The Kobe Beef cooked over a stone at your table was fantastic! The Sea Bass Satay was incredible. In fact, it was so good that the customers I was entertaining, ordered another portion, because one wasn't enough. The wasabi crusted filet was fair, I wouldn't order it again. The overall experience was excellent and my clients are still raving about it!

    Never again

It starts at the door. Very bad attitude first of all, after a long wait, we finally get a table. Took a very long time for a server to finally get to us, then food was very dry. It seems like it has been sitting at the pick-up counter for a long time. I thought I was at a diner. Never again.

    A let down

I was expecting alot from the restaurant. I had heard great things and expected a delicous meal. I was very disappointed with my meal. The portion of tuna was small and quite dry. The portions were extremely small for the price. I don't suggest it!
