Are we sure this is Kobe?
Nice and hip but the food is hit or miss. The crispy tuna appetizer was awesome but the dimsum and lobster wonton was unappetizing. What was supposely the best piece of meat on earth "Kobe" beef priced at $88 was questionable. I had better rib eye at a steak house. Overall, it was nice to check out the Big Budha but I had to pay Big Bucks for some food that I could have had for less than half. Try it and decide for yourself never to go back unless it's on someone else!

Amazing!
My fiance and I had birthday dinner reservations at 8:15 (which I made about a week in advance). We were running late so I called to let them know. They held our reservation until we arrived and were seated after a 2 minute wait (not bad at all). Though packed, the place was beautiful. The food was amazing. Honestly one of the best NYC dining experiences we've ever had.

Too Crowded
I went to TAO to meet some business associates on a Wed evening. When we got there, we had to wait an additional 30 minutes after our reservation time. The lady at the coat check was rude and abnoxious. We went to the bar for a drink and man, was it loud in there. We had to scream to one another just to be heard. When we finally got seated, it took the waiter 15 minutes to get our drink order. The food was good but, nothing spectacular. During our dinner, we were constantly disturbed by all the commotion that was ging on. I think that next time I will go just for a drink or two, not for dinner

Amazing!
The atmosphere was amazing. There is a 18 foot buddah in the center of the restaurant which floats on a small pond with fish in it. The food was outstanding, and there was a great lunch special-$20.05 for appetizer, main course, and dessert.

Too much hype
Very over-rated. Basically paying the big bucks for the atmosphere, not the food

TAO is the best!
I have been to Tao twice now and can't wait to go back. The place is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. Very Trendy and Cool.... The drinks are amazing, the sushi is very good and the food and desserts are great... I love it there on a Saturday night..... Nothing better then getting all dressed up nice and trendy and enjoying yourself there with all the rest...

Trendy
We saw Adam Sandler and Rob Snyder with a group of people when we went. Food is good, but I'm not sure if it's worth the arms and legs we used to pay for it. Atmosphere might be more worth it though.
