Always a good time
I went to dinner last night at TAO for probably the 1st time! Even with a reservation we had to wait for a table. But we didn't mind, they offer 2 bars with great drinks, love the atmosphere! it's a great build up before dinner. The server had great suggestions! We shared a lot of small plates so we were able to really sample the menu. The GIANT fortune cookie for dessert was so cool! never seen anything like that. I will be back soon!!

Dont know what theyre all talking about
I order deliver from them all the time, the food is great, gets here quick, and its cheap! In NYC its a pretty good deal to pay 40 for a steak. I'm not going to lie, probably the best steak ever. BEEF STEAK!

Have never been so disappointed
I decided to take my brother here for his birthday this year. Despite having made a reservation 3 weeks ago, we were given a beeper to wait for a table (the point of reserving a table again?) After waiting 10-15 mins after out reservation time, I went to ask the host about if he's doing something for our table and he proceeded to bite my head off telling me how it's very busy and he is doing something and that he didn't appreciate ME insulting him! Never in my life have I been so taken aback by someone's reaction! He shouldn't be in this role if he can't handle it! The food was ok, it is overpriced and the service is nothing to write home about. I certainly will not be going to Tao anymore after my experience last night. The host's behavior was completely uncalled for!

You have to be kidding-this isn't a restaurant
Went for my best friends B-day. Ordered wine, 2 bottles of champagne, apps and entrees ahead of time. Order came out completely wrong, had men (told they were mangers) speaking into their wrists like the KGB, some guy with bongos starts pounding away while we were talking and server had no clue about the menu. Quality of food was a joke. Who runs this place?

Worst food and service
The restaurant has wonderful decoration and trendy atmosphere. The food is horrible worse then a local Chinese restaurant.service is just as bad waiter doesn't come andask even if you want water or another drink .the seating arrangements are uncomfortable.

Not good for big group reservations
Have eaten here many times, but very frustrating: was going to bring a group of 18 people here, but they would not let us reserve two round tables. Despite plenty of space that night. They need better management. What recession?...

great restaurant week menu
I went here for restaurant week lunch, and they had an above average number of options to choose from on the menu! The duck spring rolls were great, the chicken pad thai was some of the best I've ever had. My friend ordered the sushi (spicy tuna, california roll, avocado roll) they were mediocre which was disappointing. The rice was too sticky and it seemed like the rolls had been made far in advance. Dessert was pretty good as well (zen parfait and banana bread pudding). Overall you cannot beat the price of $24.07 for a three course meal with such generous portions. Make a reservation no matter what, Tao was packed at 2pm.
