    Boring

Not worth the time. Came here with a large group and they made us wait until EVERY last person had arrived even though we were literally the only party at the restaurant. The waiter was rude, told us to order two dishes per person which we thought was weird so we didn't take his advice - one order per person was MORE than enough and it was pretty obvious that he just wanted to make extra money from our table. Food was fine - not that great. Too expensive for what it was. Never going back here.

    great bar

the bar is really the highlight of this place, great crowd but not too loud. drinks were well prepared and generous enough. Staff was nice and entertaining and made evening more fun

    Awesome place!

Went here with a couple friends and we had such an amazing time that I ended up calling to see if they delivered. They don't but do offer take-out. The prices are super reasonable and the food is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend it.

    Don't waste your time

We are reasonably savvy, but not overly critical. In short, the somewhat attractive setting was loud with thumping music blaring, the waiter obsequious, the cocktails unbelievably sweet and watery, the food pretentious and minimal and the prices outrageous.

    bar is their best asset

tanuki tavern's bar is definitely their best characteristic. the bar tender was really nice and gave me and my friend our first round of drinks free, it was a great start to the night. however, after walking into the back dining room the atmosphere completely changed. the bar is more hip and the dining room is a little awkward. our waitress suggested we order 3-4 dishes per person... really, 2 dishes per person is enough. not to mention she offered the sashimi platter and it turned out to be $45 on the check. if you go i'd primarily suggest the bar.

    Mediocre Food

Went to the restaurant hoping for a meal comparable to the prices but was greatly disappointed. The service was good except for the fact that they I got my meal and appetizer 20 minutes before my date got hers. The food was not great, the portions are small and not worth the money. Would not go again.
