This is by far our favorite Chinese restaurant north of downtown. We disagree with the other poster- we think the food is very flavorful and plentiful. Not overpowering, more delicate than other places, but very flavorful. Extremely gracious hosts. Well priced. We go here often.

Is there some vast conspiracy in NY that prevents anyone from opening a Chinese restaurant that has ambiance, gracious help, isn’t expensive and has excellent food? Actually the same could be said for Mexican food, but I digress. Why is there a decent Thai place on every other corner, and we can’t find Chinese food of the same quality? High hopes here with nice environment, pleasant help, and ambitious menu. But the food lacked any flavor, closed our eyes and couldn’t tell which dish we were eating it was all so bland. The search continues.

the resturant. The food is very good, the portions are small.

We had an 8:30 film screening at MoMA and got to the restaurant at 8:00. We told them we were in a hurry and the food was out to us in seemingly minutes. The Assorted Vegetables was very tasty- with crisp vegetables- brocolli, 3 different mushrooms, bamboo shoots, baby corn and water chestnuts. The soup dumplings aren't as soup-filled as what you get at Chinatown, but quite good for Midtown standards. Would definitely order it again. The Sesame Chicken was crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. It was so good I ate the left-overs immediately after our movie! The service was amazingly attentive and fast. It's 3 blocks from MoMA- we walked there, ordered, ate our meal, and walked back within 30 minutes! Would recommend!

i'm from taiwan and my friends and i think that this is one of the most authentic restaurants in town, plus since i live in midtown i prefer to come here or get delivery instead of going all the way down to chinatown.

It was delivered extremely quick. The food was good, but not stellar. I would recommend.

I've been in NYC for 2 years, and I'm hard pressed to find a better fried chicken dumpling on the East Side. The steamed chicken and mixed vegetables is also excellent. Definitely not the cheapest, but worth it.
