This is a rare breed of old new york style Chinese restaurant at mid range price. Very comfortable sitting, gracious and attentive service. Some items on the menu may not be totally authentic Shainghai but still good quality and delicious. I would rather come here everyday than waiting in line at some of the so call foodie places or those cramped places in Chinatown.

Just Chinese food

I got the chicken and eggplant and hot and sour soup. The soup was kind of flavorless and the chicken dish was super oily. When I scooped it on my plate, I could see the oil separating from the brown sauce. I thought all in all the food was average.

Food is consistent and high quality. Delivery is fast and reliable. The prices are not much more if any higher than most of the take out Chinese in the area and the food is steps above any of them. Restaurant quality food at a very good price.

As a native New Yorker of 50 years who has eaten in easily more than 100 Chinese restaurants, I judge this one as mediocre in food quality. Most noteworthy is that the staff is rude. Why go to this place when we have endless choices in NYU?

What kinda Chinese restaurant has egg rolls? The fake ones, the crappy ones, etc. Who gets general tso's chicken at a real Chinese restaurant? Why would anyone get that at tang? They serve excellent and authentic shanghainese and soochow cuisine. The restaurant has a different menu for the real food.

This place is absolutely amazing. The ambience is Chinese Elegant. The staff is at your beck and call. The food is delicious and they have the best tea in town. I love this restaurant and would go everyday if I could. The staff is so nice and gracious. I love the decor. It is like a restaurant from the Old New York. It is the best Chinese in Midtown.
