    Delicious and tasty Indian cuisine

I would like to thank Tamba Indian Grill & Bar for providing me delicious and tasty Indian cuisine at reasonable prices. This restaurant has well-organized as well as spacious dining areas where I enjoyed wonderful dining with my near and dear ones.

    Great food, great service

Tried this restaurant because of a Groupon & were glad we did! Food was great. Good portions, good prices. The woman owner was the sweetest, kindest person! She made sure everything was as we wanted it. Waiters were great as well. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Delicious, hospitable, cozy

Our second time there and our first impression was confirmed. This place is a gem. The food is so flavorful, each dish individual and yummy. The service is delightful, and personal. The owners clearly value your opinion and your patronage. The interior is intimate and pretty. Just go!

    Good food, poor service

We decided to try Tamba because of the Michelin star rating posted outside. The food was quite good. The goat biryani was very flavorful with a good amount of meat included. The lamb tikka dosa was uneven - the lamb curry was excellent, but the dosa itself was insipid. Our Tamba special naan was only average; none of the filling stood out enough to elevate the naan beyond "bread with bits of stuff falling out of it." Overall, the food was good, but the service was absolutely poor. Our waiter was unhelpful in providing appropriate recommendations, essentially pointing to everything on the menu in succession. When the bill was presented, things went downhill. First, they forgot to include my lassi and only mentioned that omission after we had already paid the bill. I rolled my eyes and handed over $6 to pay for the $4.95 lassi. And subsequently received 50 cents change back. For the not-so-mathematically-inclined, that amounts to an 11.1% sales tax rate. Honestly, I couldn't be bothered to fight over 11 cents. - to me that's a small price to pay to know you should never return. As a final service insult, though, the Lamb Tikka Dosa - listed at $15.95 - was charged at $18.95 and we did not notice until we had left the restaurant and re-looked at the menu in the window. We were lunching late, so it wasn't as if the restaurant was busy. Yes, Tamba may have made a few extra bucks with their unethical business practices, but unfortunately, they've more than lost that in any future business I would be willing to give.

    Local Family Business

We love it here! The owners (a lovely husband & wife) are always there to greet you. It's such a clean comfortable place. And their weekend lunch buffet is the best on the block. Their selection is so varied, freshly cooked and very flavorful. We are always comfortable and unlike other places on the block, delivery people aren't running behind your chair thoughout your meal and you're not below street level. Tamba shouldn't be missed

    Great Curry Hill choice

I recently went out for Indian food. I stopped by Dhaba, which was packed. It was so noisy, so I decided to try a different place. I'm so glad I checked out Tamba across the street. The food was great and reasonably priced, the atmosphere was civilized and it was easy to converse and the service was friendly and responsive. I'd definitely return.
