My Favorite Sushi spot in the Heights
Had sushi in other places in the Heights, this is by far my fav. The Miso soup is great, the ginger dressing is also great. Spicy Tuna rolls... On point!

Love it!
At time it gets really busy and the service might not be the best but the food is delicious and not expensive

The sun'll come out, Tamaya!
We've only had this sushi delivered, but it's the best we've had in NYC. Even the miso soup is better than other places. The fish is fresh, the rolls are beautiful, the appetizers are delicious. And the people working the phones are helpful and friendly. We wish we lived closer! They can only deliver to us when it's slow. But it's so good, we don't care!

Best Sushi
There is not a better sushi place that I have been to in NYC unless you're willing to pay $30-40 for your dinner. This place is AMAZING for their lunch special but if you go just for dinner, the taste and quality is so high that paying an avg of $5 per roll is so good! I live on the Upper West Side but work in the Washington Heights area and wish, on the weekends, that I could order in from Tamaya...it's THAT good. Their spicy mayo to compliment any roll is also the best I have tried in NYC. Not too spicy, just perfect!

ok
the meal and prices were pretty good, my only complaint was that they put too much crunch in the spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail rolls so there was actually a lot less fish. So just ask for no crunch- the menu doesnt tell you that they have crunch in it

Shockingly amazing
When we walked in I was disappointed because there was only one other table occupied and the atmosphere wasn't great. But when we tasted the sushi we were totally sold. It was amazing, so much so that we ordered two more rolls after we finished the 4 we ordered to begin with. It was SO delicious. The tempura batter was the best I've ever had.
