The best burgers in the East Village!
These other reviewers don't know what they are talking about and simply have bad taste or even no taste at all. The burgers here are top notch. The meat is extremely flavorful, fresh and organic. My burger was prepared medium, which is exactly what I wanted. It is quite large, comes on a soft roll with really fresh condiments: Fresh green bib lettuce, ripe red tomatoes, onions, pickles. The horseradish sauce is really good. Also loved the fries and side salad that I ordered. I tried Select Burger across the street from this, it's good, but no comparison to Tallgrass Burger. I enjoyed my meal so much it was almost like I was eating my last supper, it was THAT GOOD! Try this place, you won't be sorry.

You've got to be kidding
You have to be kidding. I had a burger, fries and can of soda, and it cost almost 15 dollars. And it isn't even a restaurant. Heck, it isn't even a diner - it's a cafeteria: no table service; pick up your food yourself when they call your number; condiment stand, go get your own ketchup. And the food was nothing special: decent burger of the sort you get anywhere. The order of fries was small and too salty. Like Burger King. Except Burger King doesn't charge 15 bucks. Maybe it's me, but when I see "Bacon Cheeseburger 7.95" I sort of assume it COMES with fries. I was shocked when I realized the eight dollars was just for the hamburger ALONE. Fries are an extra THREE BUCKS, and it's a small portion of fries. And even a can of soda (that's "CAN") is $1.63. Which costs a buck almost every place else in the universe. And it didn't help that the guy behind the counter was trying to make Aloofness an art form ("If I don't act like I'm incredibly bored, I will no longer be cool.") Gee, so sorry to put you out by asking for ketchup packets, dude. As a comparison, the night before, I had dinner at Odessa, which is a block over. Combination plate: Keilbasa, Potato Pancake, Stuffed Cabbage, Four Pierogies, Sauerkraut. Soda. Yum. Table service; nice people; tons of good food. It cost me the same 15 dollars WITH TIP that this hole charged for a burger and fries in a cafeteria atmosphere. Go back again? Why would I? If I want a cheap burger joint - which is what I ASSUMED this was and what it is comparable to - there are tons that will give me the same damned thing for 7 bucks.

Burger This!
I had high hopes for this place, based on my takeout experience: nice though not special burger, fabulous fries, good shake. But ordering for delivery, not so much. The guy on the phone was spectacularly rude and apparently incapable of understanding simple English, as my burger arrived with all the things I had specifically NOT to be on it: pickle, lettuce, tomato, well done not rare, etc. It took five tries and almost two hours to get the order corrected, and it wasn't worth the hassle. Never again.

don't waste your time or stomach real estate
Just ordered a burger and rings. Worst. Burger. Ever. I ordered MR, it came medium and gross. Soggy, greasy (not in a good way) and grey and basically like a cafeteria burger from the local hospital or high school. It may be free-range or whatever their angle there is, but I'd sooner eat a Big Mac before ordering from them again. Such a shame, as the price was right, it was quick and the lady was really nice.

Good burger, not great for price
I tried this place recently - I'm not gonna lie, it was decent. But I must say $16.00+ for a burger, fries and a drink - that's a bit pricey for a whatever place. Also, the service for a brand new restaurant - they're not very welcoming.
