Talia's Steakhouse & Bar

They have a "Recession Special," which is a good idea. If you're willing to spend the cash, the food is decent here (better at Le Marais, but this is the UWS), but don't expect the place to be run well; it seems like everyone is family of the owner. They're constantly making mistakes.

I went to Talia's a few nights ago with my friend and we had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and extremely helpful with ordering. I got the steak wrap with spinach risotto and my friend got the london broil. The food came on time and was delicious!! The spinach risotto is a must try! And of course we got the chocolate souffle for dessert - amazing! We went on a Tuesday and really enjoyed the live music that was playing! You have to go!

The live music was so great! Mixed with the candles and roses on the tables, it really made for a nice ambiance. The steaks were cooked exactly how I like, and my cup never went dry. The servers were all very friendly and helpful, I know I can be a handful so this was nice to see that they were able to roll with the punches. I'm a picky eater and the food was exactly what I wanted. I really had an exceptional night. The food was so affordable and to be honest, the portions were really quite generous. Great experience!

A family-friendly kosher restaurant! The waitress was very patient with my five sons and brought them their food earlier, as I requested. The menu has enough options to satisfy their pickiness. My husband and I also enjoyed our meals of Lamb Tagine and Duck Breast. The kids couldn’t get enough of the pita and pesto-oil, which comes with the meal, and still managed to save enough room for chocolate dome cake desserts.

My girlfriend and I were in town and decided to pop into Talia's as it was the first kosher place we passed by. Their shnitzel was "fo shizzle" as the kids these days like to say (that means it was excellent, fyi). The girlfriend had the BBQ ribs (yes, a girl with no qualms of getting her hands or face messy with ribs... I'm in love) and she said it was one of the best BBQ sauces she's tasted. Dipped some of my shnitzel in there, because that's how I roll, and it was really tasty. Definitely will be back there when I'm in town again.

The food is subpar. The service is poor. people are squished together like sardines. What a waste of money.

I came with a group of 8 to Talia’s Steakhouse before an evening out in New York City. We couldn’t have made a better choice. We called in advance and reserved a table for 9:00 and upon arrival were immediately seated. The Live Music (Jazz Set) really set the mood for a relaxing evening. Talia’s staff attended to us immediately and was more than helpful in explaining the menu options. I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was grilled to perfection. The food was delicious and the portions were large and appealing! Overall, I highly recommend Talia’s.
