Unpleasant experience
With reservations on Fathers day we were promptly seated in a full restaurant. That was the only thing that went well that evening that ended up lasting over 3 hours. Half the red wine menu was not in stock. A few appetizers were unavailable. Same for a few entrees, and even quite a few cuts of steak were unavailable. Even their highly regarded chocolate souffl? desert was out. Our poor waitress, a very sweet girl who was called in to fill in for just that day, was at her wits end dealing with irate customers and a kitchen that was subpar. They had no bus boy(s) to clean off the tables. Even getting water took over 45 minutes after putting some effort into it. The salad appetizer was the best out of the 3 we ordered. Three out of 4 entrees weren?t grilled according to how we ordered them. One was sent back to be cooked more. The sides that came with the steaks weren?t the ones we ordered. Two of us even got a squash side that was quite tasty that wasn?t listed anywhere. We saw many a table of people get up and leave when nothing showed up in front of them for close to an hour. Just a tip, most of the time its not the servers fault when the kitchen is not up to the task of serving people and the food takes forever. We were very nice to our waitress and she did all she could to get us our food as soon as she could and kept us updated as to its progress. She even went to the owner and got us 10% off the final bill b/c the food took so long.

Not recommended
I'm a card carrying foodie who dines out all the time and have reviews published, so I know whereof I speak. This place is typical of a kosher restaurant phenomenon, with the attitude that you should be grateful someone will serve you kosher food and take your money, accompanied by poor service. The steaks are fine, but the seafood, both appetizer (not presented according to the description) and the entree, were indifferent. Their martini, at $15, is the highest priced on the kosher NYC scene--I checked. Perhaps the young folk on a date may find the energy level appealing, but they may be too engrossed to realize they are overpaying for atmosphere.

A new york must!
I take great pleasure in dining out and experiencing new and exciting cuisine but I was in for a classic. I didn't know what to expect from a kosher steakhouse but it was flat out incredible. I frequent places with my girlfriend and she is the toughest critic and even she was impressed. The food and service is above and beyond what I have had in a long time and she cant wait to go back. Here's to the most romantic steakhouse in N.Y.C

Great place for a date - hip and fun
Always love the atmosphere. Perfect for a fun date. Service ... well don't go there for the service, especially if you are in a hurry. They were very fair and creative for their passover menu - lot's of places will take advantage of people. Go for it!

Crowded and Poor Service
We waited forever to get in and then a long time for our food. The food was ok, but not great. The service was poor. The staff needs to improve and make more of an effort to be customer friendly before I would return. Expensive too!

Not So Hot
When I first went to Talia's, I really liked it - the atmosphere, the food and the service. But the last couple of times I've gone have been disappointing. They took forever to bring us our food. And once, they brought fish n' chips on a Sat night in which the fish was burnt, so we sent it back after waiting so long for it. Later, the manager complained that he cared more about the fact that he had to replace the burnt fish than the bad service that night. One of my friends had asked for a cappucino and the waiter literally forgot about it, and we ended up noticing the cup sitting under the machine while the drink kept pouring over the cup. Also, once I ordered a pasta dish from the menu but with a different sauce and they obviously didn't listen and brought exactly what was on the menu. The atmosphere has also become very crowded and noisy, and it's hard to get the attention of a waiter. I like the whole lounge idea on Saturday nights though, and I like the music that the DJ plays. I haven't been back to Talia's in months since my different bad incidents.

The best steakhouse in the city
The best steakhouse I have been to in years. I went to talia's steakhouse with my date and it was amazing. The atmosphere was great and very good looking. I loved the food. It was better than any other steak I had ever had. And the price was very reasonable for a kosher restaurant. A must go!
