Talia's Steakhouse & Bar

Amazing Restaurant: A must go I went there with my friends, a group of 8, and I was very happy with my experience at Talia’s. We first walked into the door and were seated immediately. The live band was great and the art and atmosphere was terrific. Our waiter suggested that I have the rib eye and so I ordered it. Our food came very quickly, even though the steakhouse was full. When I took that first bite I knew I had ordered the perfect dish. The French fries were also the best I have ever tasted. One of my friends also got a cheeseburger and was so happy with his food that he went back the next night. I would say the prices were very fair too. Overall this was one of the bets experiences I have ever had at a restaurant period. I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great meal and a great time.

I consistently go to Talia's hoping that they can turn around the service. But, the wait staff never ceases to dissapoint. It is almost as if they have never waited on tables before. I have had bad experiences such as: the waiter taking my order and then dissapearing for over an hour as I waited for my food, waitresses not speaking any english or having any level of familiarity with the menu (aka not knowing the difference between a whole wheat and regular wrap despite it being an option on the menu). Every so often, there is a waiter who tries to please - but it is hard to compensate for the performance of the service as a whole. The food is fine, albeit significantly overpriced, but I always leave Talia's frustrated and annoyed at the service.

I have been to Talia's twice... The first time was for dinner with a friend. The meal, the service, and the overall experience was pretty lousy. But, I gave Talia's the benefit of the doubt after that first encounter (maybe it was an off night?) and tried their take-out service for dinner. HORRIBLE. The meat was not only overcooked but by the time they walked the two blocks to deliver it to me, it was cold and soggy. Despite the fact that the meal cost me a small fortune, it was simply not edible and I ended up throwing it in the garbage.

It was a Friday night at 6:30pm. Myself and my friend were the only patrons. While we ate, the waiter never checked on us once. The food was worthy of, perhaps, an Applebees or other cheaper place. Mediocre in every way. I don't suspect this place will remain open very long.

The live band, mellow soft rock & roll, the candles in each table in this dimly lit space establishment, the cozy & warm outdoor cafe, the smiling servers, the great parve smoothie, the unbelievable non dairy cheeseburger cooked to perfection and the chocolate souffle with ice cream make Talia's Steakhouse one of the best restaurant in Manhattan.

I think this is a good idea that turned into a bad reality. We went to Talia's two families and the food was just ok, very pricey. I do not know what they must be thinking but i would never eat from this place again. The service is nice, actually, but what they give you for what they charge is a joke.We ordered several items from the menu and ended up attacking the kids' chicken nuggets... Everyone except for the kids ,were disappointed. Upper west side has much nicer kosher restaurants, believe me. take your business somewhere else...

I was very impressed with Talia’s Steakhouse Passover menu. You could find in it even special buns and rolls – a rare and unique items during Passover. I had a chance to dine at Talia’s three times during the week of Passover. Great food! Although the servers were attentive, polite and professional, the service was slow because Talia’s was extremely crowded. I got my food about an hour from the time I placed my order. Understandable. Only few fine dining American restaurants were open in the Upper West Side. I give the management of Talia’s a lot of credit for taking the time and spending a lot of money to kosherize their restaurant for Passover. It is a great service to the Jewish community of NYC. Anyway, during Passover Talia’s was able to ensure 100% food quality and 90% customer satisfaction... Highly recommended spot for excellent dining experience.
