    Solid Restaurant

I went in to Talde last night with very high expectations and was not disappointed. First off, the service was excellent. The bartender was very knoweldgable and accomodating and both our waitresses (one replaced the other at the end of her shift) were extremely pleasant without being overbearing. We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen in surprisingly comfortable stools. My friend and I split the beef carpaccio special appetizer of the day as well as the octopus appetizer. Each had complex though well balanced flavors. We also splilt the korean fried chicken, which I cannot say enough about. So spicy (both in heat and in flavors)! So moist! So delcious! I will definitely be back.

A fantastic addition to the Slope

We've been watching with great anticipation the corner space on 11th and 7th avenue being transformed into the Top Chef alum Dale Talde's restaurant TALDE. Took our 2 kids on a Sat night (we live close by so left name and came back.) Overall we are thrilled by this addition. My husband is Chinese American and we make/eat lots of homemade dumplings and soups. Talde holds its own in both categories. The dumplings had a great flavor and both the ramen and the wonton were delicious. The wontons in the soup were light and flavorful. Note that each soup had plenty for all for of us! They are huge. We ordered the pork shoulder and although everyone was already beyond full it got devoured. The kids inhaled it. Sooo tender and just a tad sweet. We also ordered the fluke. We were actually too full to eat it. I had a tiny taste and it was moist and nicely seasoned. An FYI the Sat night wait after 7 is 2 hrs. A weeknight is probably a better bet or leave your name and try Brookvin for a glass of wine next door first.

    Will be back

Had a great time with friends. Service was super knowledgeable. Started with the perilla leaf a must have. The dumplings, market fish and Brussels sprouts were also highlights. The lycee martini was on point and the wines are easy and very affordable. Looking forward to going back and seeing how they grow,

    Saltiest food in town

My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to eating at Talde. We live in the neighborhood and have passed by a few times only to find over an hour wait, which was too long, so we left. When we finally decided to get there at early at 6:30 the place was packed with an ultimate homogenous park slope crowd, but we managed to get a table in 20 minutes or so. We ordered the pretzel pork dumplings and sliders to start. All we tasted was salt. Although a little disappointed, we ordered wonton soup with ramen. I have never tasted saltier soup. It was inedible, so my boyfriend cancelled the main course. The staff was wonderful through our stay, and the owner cancelled the check - which was quite gracious; we were happy about that.

    Great new Asian Fusian!

As big fans of Dale from Top Chef, we were very excited to try Talde and we were not disappointed! We went on the second night the restaurant was open so obviously there were a few kinks that needed to be worked out (it was very hot inside and our food came all at once after waiting quite a while initially), but nothing that took away from our enjoyment of the meal. The place has a great vibe and is very spacious. We had the Perilla Leaf, very good, but really more of an amuse bouche than something to be ordered off the menu; the Saigon crepes - tasty but very big portion; the Pretzel Pork and Chive Dumplings - LOVED those; Wonton noodle soup - excellent, but could have used more delicious broth in the bowl; the BBQ Pork Shoulder - perfectly tender with a fantastic spicy mustard dip; the Oyster and Bacon Pad Thai - very tangy and full of flavor unlike so many bland pad thai's we have had recently. Our waiter was a wealth of information in regards to the menu and we even had the opportunity to meet Dale who was extremely modest and kind. Definitely worth a visit!!
