what is the hype for??
I dont know what the deal is but this was the worst everything bagel I ever had! I mean yeah it was fresh but it had no salt no spices on it.. it was like a plain bagel with a tiny sprinkle of stuff on it. The veggie cream cheese was good. Other than that it was way crowded.. I wouldnt say they were rude.. just keeping the line moving.. no u cant use credit cards which is crazy in nyc. Id go back but ONLy if I had no choice. Maybe I'll try a salt bagel nexttime. The bagels in Queens are way better. I was dissapointed.. esp with the price. like 6 bucks for a bagel w cream cheese! =O

Everything Bagels
If you want to have the best everything bagels in the entire world call them a couple of hours ahead and order their everything bagels made especially for you with sun flower seeds. They used to make them that way all the time. Now you have to order at least a dozen and special order them. I think they are the best ever, and you can also tell your friends that you have your bagels custom made.

I don't know what the problem is...
.... because they toast the bagel each time I ask, and no, it has never costed me $10 for a bagel and coffee. It costs about $5. Trust me, I go once a week. Maybe at othe locations they aren't as accomodating, but at 86 they're fine. Overly friendly? No, but where in New York is?

I have never seen a $30 credit card minimum at an establishment. According to the credit card companies you aren't even allowed to post a min.! The man was so rude- it wasn't like I ordered just one bagel I ordered over a dozen. He said, "$30 min, put it back- NEXT!" My 2 year old daughter was sorely dissapointed we had to leave.

Its an amazing place for bagel
place is like the bagel's palace. very very good bagels.. maybe the best i've gained my weight with. but - VERY VERY expensive!! guys - after all - its only a bagel... depression is near.. you cant survive w/ this prices.. people cant afford your yammy bagels.. you are charging $10 four soup? $10 for bagel and drink?? i buy triple the quantity in bagel stores in the same area..

They now toast bagels and take cards!
Simply a great place with fresh food and adequate service. Hard to find good quality but it is here.
