Highly recommended
We ordered the Meze Platter, Shepherds salad, Mussaka and lamb adana. All were wonderfully prepared and very tasty. Atmosphere was very pleasant and able to converse without all the noise. Will go again.

Best lahmacun!
I stop in just for the lahmacun, which is like a very thin flatbread pizza with minced lamb on top. Yummy!! Haven't found another spot in nyc that does it as well! The staff is friendly too! I like the decor, it's like taking a quick trip to Istanbul.

a neighborhood place for a casual bite
tasty turkish for a decent price in midtown. the menu was indeed redone in the last couple years but it is similar and quite acceptable. the redone space was a big improvement. redone lighting, comfortable to sit in with beautiful paintings of turkish scenes. wine list is a bit touch and go. service can be a bit touch and go, but usually warm. all in all a good place for a casual dinner.

Delicious Turkish food in Mid-town east
I must admit that we are regulars at this neighborhood Turkish restaurant. We love the Chicken Shish-kebob, lamb chops, and their wonderful baked rice pudding (it's addictive). Always friendly service and consistently good food. The only quibbles are that service can get a little slow when they are very busy. Also, the wine has been served warm on a couple of occasions. But nothing that would stop us from eating there at least twice a month or more.

Good changes
I went to taksim restaurant yesterday night with my girlfriend. I had such an amazing night. The food changed a lot recently people are complaining about the way that they changed it. They should talk to chef or the most friendly owner that I see in my whole life. The young talented guy is in charge and for my opinion the staff is doing great. You should go order the new doner(which is gyro) lahmacun(thin crust lamb pizza) and the new traditional dessert which is kunefe. I will definitely go back to taksim soon.

Change for the Worse
I am among the customers displeased with the changes to Taksim's menu. Taksim used to be a go-to for really excellent, high quality food with inventive flavors for a great price, but the new recipes Taksim is using for old favorites are truly terrible. The various combinations of ingredients in their newly formulated salads are unappetizing at best, and after having tried the new version of the grilled chicken salad, which used to be one of my favorite meals that I often enjoyed multiple times a week, I can say with confidence that I will not be going back. The mix of croutons, olives, and walnuts in the new version of the grilled chicken salad was not tasty, and the amazing flavor of the old dressing has been replaced by an oily substitute that tasted stale and completely unoriginal. It was a struggle to finish the meal. I'm not sure why this change for the worse has happened, but I'm terribly disappointed.

best Turkish food in town!
I love the changes that have been made here! My Turkish husband and I ate here a couple month's ago and weren't that impressed, but after revisiting this weekend, the quality of the food has improved greatly! Now that they have a Turkish chef in the kitchen, the food is definitely more authentic Turkish. I especially love the lahmacun, a kind of pizza with really thin dough and chopped lamb, it's the best I've had in NYC! They also added doner, or gyro, to their menu and so we had to try that, and it was really great! And last, but not least, they've added my all time favorite desert, Kunefe! You just have to try it to understand!
