My wife and I have been coming here for years; this has become one of our favorite restaurants. The ingredients and types of dishes here are indeed different than what can be found at Takahachi East Village, but for the better, in my opinion. The menu at this location is highly inventive, and delicious. Without fail, we are warmly greeted by the owner and his staff, who are nothing but generous and solicitous to us. This is one of those restaurants where you can go and feel like they know you, know what you like, and are eager to satisfy you. It is a joy every time.

This place used to be great but there are a lot of new people working here and not only has the service gone to crap but the food has gone way down hill. At first I thought it was an off night but now it seems to be routine. The staff used to be so friendly but now they are very rude and unfriendly. I have been coming here for 6 years and never felt that way ones but now the place has obviously changed for the worse. Bad timing too with this economy the way it is. The waitress also screwed up our order because she couldn't understand a lick of English. As far as the food. Both orders of my fish tasted almost odd. They must have changed fish vendors.

The first time I tried this restaurant I thought it was a little expensive until the food came. For the price you get a lot of food. I go here frequently now and love the eel. I introduced the place to my sister who eats out a lot and is very picky and she loved the sushi.

Down in the financial district, there aren't many choices for quality sushi, especially on evenings and weekends. I decided to take to menupages and consider ordering by phone, after countless disappointments from restaurants featured on Seamless web. I was very pleased with the quality of the sashimi, but I do wish the spicy sauce was spicy mayo, even if it isn't actually authentic japanese. The price was great for the high quality too! The delivery guy was super nice, and we even upped his tip when we saw his cheery disposition and quick delivery time! I definitely will be ordering from here from now on, and I can't wait to go to the restaurant and eat there!

This does not even come close to high-end restaurants and Zagat supposedly rated this restaurant highly. This is misleading to all readers. We recently ordered sushi for 2 with 2 big rolls and appetizers. The fish was very bland and rolls had no flavor at all. Service was average. Foodies should look elsewhere.

I randomly stumbled across Takahachi while roaming around Tribeca to find an affordable place to eat. The menu was by far the most reasonable in the area, and I am always willing to try a new sushi spot. I was with 4 friends, and we were all delighted to have found this gem. I am a sushi fanatic, and have tried several different sushi spots around the city. I can honestly say, that this place had the freshest sushi that I have ever eaten. The sushi special was incredible, the cold mountain roll was fun and delicious, and everybody else that I was with had nothing but complements about their dishes. If you love sushi and have not tried this place, I highly reccomend that you do. This is my first menu pages review ever, and I would say that this is the first restaurant that truly deserves it. Enjoy.
