It's true that the service can be scattered, though they're well-intentioned. The husband and wife owners are quite nice. It's manic at lunch-time; I generally won't attempt to go there until after 1:30. But the food is really great, flavorful and fresh authentic. And it's super-cheap! I guess using plastic utensils keeps the costs down. For a slightly more upscale experience, try their other restaurant, La Bamba, just two blocks up Greenwich.

Even though I read the previous poster's review, I ordered from there for a meeting. Wrong move. Although the food was GREAT and quite PLENTIFUL...it arrived 30+ minutes late(!), and barely above room temperature. La Loca on the phone (judging by her condecending "altitude" she must have been owner) was very curt and unapologetic. Should you eat the food? Yes. Should you order out? Only if you're not that hungry and have time to kill.

Although the food is ok, having a corporate account at Tajin is a nightmare. The owner can be rude and incosiderate. She hung up on me when I asked if several bags could be labeled with numbers in my delivery. We do a lot of business there and she did nothing to accomodate my order with any convienence. Orders are often incorrect, mislabeled and arrive a half hour later than othere restaraunts.

Good bargain, great food, really authentic, tastes good. A hole in the wall with fantastic cooking. It's like finding a diamond in a lump of coal.

Excellent food and service. Only place in NYC that has a food just like home. Also, portions are huge!! Great place for lunch!

Varied menu of authentic mexcian cuisine. Great tacos, chile rellenos, sopa azteca (only $2!!) and other rotating specials. Simple decor, but tasty food and excellent value.
