The place looks dingy. The food is good, the prices are decent. But do takeout only. The service is pretty poor. Rude phone service. The manager could care less about complaints. There's a 15 minimum on credit cards, which is ridiculous. And they will NOT take credit cards for delivery - that's cash only. They get away with a lot because they're the only Mexican restaurant in the area for the lunch crowd. If there were another place near by, my office would get food from that place instead.

Ignore what the others say about the owner. She is not rude. She is busy! If you know what you want, have your money out, and don't get in anyone's way, she is very nice. If you go in during the lunch rush, block the door, and stare at the take out menu for 20 minutes, of course she will be annoyed! I would be too! I had the combo burrito today ($8) and it is way more than enough for two meals. It is also, without questions, the best homestyle Mexican I have had in the City. Yum. I cannot wait to eat there again. Lunch is busy so go either early/late.

You order for the food. You don't go there for the ambiance and definitely not for the service. In fact, it's a testament to the food and value that I go back. It's a perfect place to order from but I don't recommend Tajin's sister restaurant.

The food is great and you get a large portion for your money. I just finish placing an order for delivery and the phone person is rude. If you have the option to go pick it up I suggest you do also they have great lemonade but they are the only ppl who charge tax on a drink!

I've been eating at Tajin for 8 years. I love the food. If I'm ordering lunch I order early (sometimes as early as 11:00 am!). I find the owners nice, and I totally love one of the waiters.

Having been a Taijn advocate for the length of my career in the financial district, I had to respond to the previous post which was an unfair attack on the manager of Tajin. Tajin serves excellent authentic mexican meals at insanely cheap prices. Its quality is obvious by the amount of traffic it recieves. It is always busy during lunch, and the manager deals with all of the orders, payments, and organizations of the restaurant. If she came off as irritable, deal with it. She serves hundreds of meals a day and has never messed up an order for me ever. She is actually quite personable despite the stesses of her job.

If you order out, be prepared to receive attitude from the owner and to have your food arrive late. I asked to pay with credit card and I was given a sigh and more attitude. If she is the owner, then she should lead by example.
