    Great place! live music!

I've been going to this restaurant for years. Definitely recommend the $10 dinner special. Comes with great appetizers and desserts. The waitstaff is friendly and the woman who owns it is really sweet. One of the best part is the live music!(sitar players, I think). Makes a great date/hangout atmosphere.

Keep going down the block for better food!

I love the affordable, low-key Indian restaurants on 6th, and I've had some really delicious meals there over the years. I decided to try a new place on Saturday night, and boy was I disappointed! The free wine was probably the highlight. But I was going out for the food. The lentil soup was so salty and strong and red - it tasted like it had ketchup or tabasco or both. The condiments tray was re-used, which usually doesn't bother me too much, but the condiments were low, so it was extra-gross. The pakora that came with the dinner special tasted okay slathered in tamarind sauce, but were fried until they were black, which was unappetizing on many levels. The vegetable curry tasted like a weak buttery sauce, with horribly overcooked veggies. I literally laughed when the nan came out - it was pale and sad, not a wonderful golden brown, and the size was about half that at any other place. The chicken tikka was fine. I had to hunt down the waitress to get our check, which doesn't count against the food, but it was kind of funny b/c 4 other tables were also waiting to settle up.

    Watching out for throwing food

Best deal around! Great dinner special menu, ask for the dinner special menu because the one they advertise on the street is a different price inside unless you ask. Cheap beer, but the service was just ok. Our server was the only person there and was running like crazy, and at one point he literally threw our silverware and plates at us. Other than that, great food, solid basement atmosphere, and awesome value.

    Very Good...

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurants several times. We both love the atmosphere, service (they're friendly) , price (you'll get a lot for your money) and most important the food is very good. We definitely go back there again and again.

    Disapointed

I have been going to one of the Indian restuarants on the block for a while and thought I would try something new. Although they offered us the lunch special at 5:00, and the waiter and interior were both very nice (although it did smell kind of funny...), the nan was pretty much pita bread, the chicken tika masala was strange and bitter. The chicken was dry, the vegtable danshak was not good either. I will not be going back.

Not really the place to go for good Indian

My girlfriend and I recently ate here. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the mixed grill, along with the sampler appetizer and garlic naan. The mixed grill was the only dish worth ordering. The food was moderately priced, but the Tikka masala was pretty awful (not well seasoned, sause was very disappointing.) The lamb in the appetizer was ok, but nothing else was good. The garlic naan was not tasty at all. They put the garlic inside, but it was dry, brittle, and without flavor. The service was good and the place wasn't busy on a saturday night, but i wouldn't go back.

    Worst Indian Food restaurant ever!

We went there for dinner on a normal Thursday night. Should've taken the hint since we went there around 7ish and it was still empty in there. We were the only people in the restaurant & saw the deal 6 course for $9.99. We decide to get that dinner option we were only served 3 out of the 6 plates and charged extra for the oiliest nan ever and over priced $3 a can soda. The chicken masala that we ordered only came w/ 3 pieces a person and was very disgusting. Needless to say we were all very disappointed w/ dinner that night and went to eat at McDonalds instead! I would never ever go back to this place again!
