    Great Time

Was my first visit to Tailor..After reading many reviews i decided to drop by with two friends last week. We had a great dinner we ate everything from Brisket to Red snapper and our waiter even let us try some stuff off of the tasting menu, The Carbonara was incredible ! everything was really really great...We stopped downstairs for a end of the night cocktail and again was not disapointed....Looking forward to going back again soon!

    Mustard ice cream

Sometimes you can take it a bit too far. This place takes itself too seriously. No salads for a starter, food that is way too expensive (recession?) And to cap it all off, the desserts are a disaster. Cake comes a la mode, but here's the catch. it's MUSTARD flavored ice cream. Not a good way to end a meal. Total disaster.

    Nutty

I stopped by for a Nutty Monk. I thought it was original and very good. I will return to try the Waylon.

    Overpriced, small portions, tiny menu

I went to Tailor for a dinner party. Me and my girlfriend are vegetarians. There are about 6 or so appetizers and 6 or so main course options to choose from, ALL of which were meat based. We asked them about it and they brought us a tiny plate of steamed vegetables to share. I admit they were tasty, but it wasn't quite a meal. All the other courses my friends ordered looked small. The desserts were good but too small as well. The service was polite but slow. The prices are incredibly overpriced. Me and my girlfriend spent about $60 (inc. tax and tip) on a small, shared appetizer, a dessert, and wine. For that price we could have gotten a delicious, filling, and vegetarian meal at any number of other, better restaurants. And the atmosphere is really nothing special. It was only half full on a Saturday night, not a good sign. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

    Spectacular

We had high expectations for Tailor and it didn't disappoint. Our server was attentive and patient with our questions. The food was spectacular - especially the escargot and the bell pepper cake. Everything we ordered was unique and succulent. I would highly recommend it - we will be returning soon.

    Great Group Dinner

I went here recently with some friends to have dinner. cannot say enough good things about Tailor. The service was outstanding and the food was ever more impressive. The plating was gorgeous as well. Some of the standout dishes that we had were the fluke, pork belly, cod, short ribs, bass, french toast, and soft chocolate. We had a special surprise of Corriander Cotton Candy. It was a little refreshing if you can believe it. Prices are very resonable and we can't wait to return. Also, you need to check out the bar below. It's a great atmosphere.

    Not recommended

I went to the restaurant for a birthday dinner on Friday with reservations for 15, which means we got a prefix menu (this will be important later). First, the very, very short list of pros: 1.) The waitress was clear, patient, and easygoing. Great waitress. 2.) I am not a seafood lover but they did not have chicken or beef. I opted for duck...it was surprisingly delicious! Now, the reasons to close the kitchen and avoid showering misery upon future restaurant goers. 1.) This is the slowest restaurant I have ever eaten at. It took roughly 4 hrs for the entire ordeal. 2.) The portions are way too small for the prices. 3.) The atomsphere is drab and not engaging in any respect. 4.) They refused to open our bottles. It was forbidden and they would not even do it for a corking fee. Who do they think they are? Will someone bring management down from the clouds they are on? The food and the dining atomsphere does not warrant delusional arrogance. 5.) The best for last. We went with 13 ppl and 12 ppl ate. However we were told we will be charged for 15 b/c the reservations for 15 was not modified to 12 at least 24 hrs beforehand. As absurd as this policy is, I can begrudingly accept it if the restaurant is full and the policy is clearly explained when make reservations. Guess what? Niether occurred. First, the restaurant was 60%-70% full...in retrospect, that is a miracle. Second, the reservation policy was not explained at the time of reservation. Charging a fee if we do not show up or came late is good business sense. Slapping us with this "policy" at the end of dinner with no prior warning and with bill in hand is flat out unpardonable.
