Awsome!
Chickpea is an amazing retaurant! The pitas are amazing, fresh, warm, and delicious. The falafal and schwarma are both amazing, but get the lamb, not chicken swarma.

Wonderful
This place is great. Delicious and affordable. Their wait staff changes all the time so I would ignore any reviews about the service. Not enough space to sit all the time. I can't wait till they open up their other location on 14th Street.

I'm done with this place
went to chickpea and had the driest shawarma sandwich ever. the meat was literally shriveled to nothing it was like a turkey jerky pita.the people that work there aren't that friendly either...one time i asked for everything on my pita and the guy sarcastically said everything??!! and loaded my sandwich with those annoying pickled cauliflowers on purpose. it was pretty funny though. I just think their falafel has some off spices in it maybe even some incense that those vendor dudes burn on the street... and they skimp on the portions with delivery with those cleverly sectioned take away containers. i know that trick!

Great Value + Falafel
Chickpea is a wonderful place to satisfy your hunger, whether you are going for a snack or lunch. The falafels are yummy and their pita bread is so fluffy and soft. And their $3.00 sandwiches are a bargain- this is what you should get when you go here, it's so cheap!

More miss than hit
After giving this place a few tries, I would say the poor service is enough to turn me away altogether. They consistently forget to give you parts of the dish that are listed on the menu -- pitas, sauces, etc. They also often charge the wrong price at the register until you point out that the menu lists a price that is completely different from what you were just charged. The "fresh" food is often pretty dried out and lacking in flavor, so the food doesn't really make up for the deficient service. The hummus is tasty, but the 1 pita they give you with the hummus plate doesn't do it much justice.

The falafel can be a little hit or miss
Usually 2 out of 3 visits are great here, but once in a while you do get a rather dry skimpy falafel. The wait can be a little long, but its that way because it's popular. The platters and sandwiches are a really good deal compared to every place I've been to so far, including murrays (for both quantity and quality) Murray's tastes GREAT, but Chickpea gives you more falafel for your money. And the atmosphere is cute, plus you don't have to bug anyone for more sauce...which is a HUGE plus. Waiting in line with a little empty condiment cup for 3 minutes while your falafel gets cold is NOT cool. Chickpea really minimizes that issue. Chickpea is definitely worth checking out.

Great falafel and shwarma
Try the shawafel. I'm hooked. It's a great cheap eat. When a place like this opens in New York, word spreads fast. I travel from the UWS just to eat here.
