Seriously good. Go to there. Stop whatever you are doing and go to there.

I lived in Mexico City for 7 years and I find it really difficult to get good tacos in NYC. This place definitely gets as close as possible to genuine Mexican tacos, and I love the atmosphere! Super great place definitely worth getting your taco fix. Even though it's $4 for two tacos a tapas place is usually more expensive and a lot of "legit" Mexican places are too so I definitely think it's worth it.

$4 for a sad taco. No wonder this place is always empty; the food is bland and the size doesnt even come close to the value they charge for it. Their website says, ".. you can expect to find tacos... lots of tacos..." which is complete crap since the menu at the trendy little VW consists of about 4 tacos, 2 tamales and a few tostadas. The only thing saving this sad excuse for a taco joint is the friendly staff who are probably that way to overcompensate for the subpar quality in food.

Just like a number of other reviews have stated, my crew and I found this place after refusing to wait at another restaurant. It was silly that we bought our tickets and drinks at one counter, then did an about face and walked 8 feet to the other counter to hand our tickets away. HOWEVER, that second counter is an old VW camper van, so that turned the "silly" into "whimsy". Great! The tacos were excellent and were the best I've had in Manhattan. I'm quite a snob when it comes to Mexican food and complain on a weekly basis about how difficult it is to find the good stuff in New York City. The corn, pork, and beef tacos were what was recommended to us and they were super-duper, if small for the price. $3.98 per tiny taco is a lot, but at least they didn't skimp at all on the meat/toppings/heat. The salsa included on every table also added a lot of extra heat if you would like it. In the end, the staff was absolutely lovely, the atmosphere was fun and nonchalant, the hibiscus tea was pretty nuts, and we got to sign a petition for them to get their liquor license (you should too!). Try this place; it's fun and tasty!
