    the best option around

i just loved both the price and the flavours of the 2x1 frozen margaritas (i think i had one too many) and the fajitas were absolutely fantastic.....from 0 to 10 i give this guys an 11 (even with the hangover)...keep up the good work guys...ill see you again for sure.

    Cold food & poor service!

I went once and was greatly disappointed but I gave it a try after few months when friends wanted to meet for dinner after work. We were all greatly disappointed! The food is simple and side dishes came out cold the service was terrible; we were basically looking for our waitress all night and twice ordered items that not only didn’t get to us but we were charged for it! Also you get charged for any extra you order like: sour cream or more sauce….outrages! There are much better Mexican restaurants near by!

one of the best mexican places around

without trying to be french or italian this guys at tacocina serve REAL mexican food in a mexican presentation, and i could relate to the many trips my father took us to visit distant relatives in his hometown just south of mexico city.....and the margaritas added a little fiesta for me and my friends .....will totally comeback and recommend to anyone looking for a good time for a good price, thank you guys.

Hit the spot after a long day

First of all make sure you go to the restaurant and not the Express. We saw the sign over the express restaurant, but it looked so dingy we said, let's go to the cute little restaurant we just saw instead. Well, it turns out that was Tacocina! We had the 2 for 1 frozen margaritas (original). Were they the best I have ever had? No, but they were not bad either. The chips and particularly the salsa were great. However, we were four at our table and got the same amount as those who were two at a table. They were so good, I would have liked more...I would not have been able to eat my dinner though, so it was probably a good thing that we didn't get it. Two of us ate the chicken fajitas...YUM! My husband had the surf and turf fajitas (beef and shrimp) and he enjoyed it too. My daughter had the chicken taco salad and enjoyed it very much too. Service was great and we would recommend this place to all.

    I would keep on looking

I wish we had gone to eat on the same night most of these other people seem to have gone. It was 'eh' at best.

    Are you kidding?

We went here on a Friday evening and we had the following experience: Most of the food was cold. What wasn't cold wasn't very good anyway. Wait - the chips and salsa were fine. The drinks weren't great, but just okay. I would never recommend this place. I eat Mexican food all the time, I drink margaritas, and daiquiris, etc. and this is not particularly good food. In fact, my friends thought it was terrible. Also, there are much better Mexican restaurants in the area.

    Excellent and affordable beyond belief

Besides the 2 for 1 margaritas special running from Sun to Thursday, this place also has a coupon so you get $25 coupon and only pay $5, that's $20 savings right off the bat. We were there on 6/20, Wed night, try to arrive early as by the time we were leaving (8:30 PM), it got busy and people were waiting outside for tables and bar seats. The food was very good, the drinks were tasty. It was 4 of us, we each had two margaritas, and shared 6 appetizers which was more than enough, we could not finish them. After all the discounts, each person paid $20 including a very nice tip! That is incredible. I forgot when was the last time we were able to enjoy the evening so cheaply. The quesadillas are exceptionally good, the nachos are superb, loaded with meat, guacamole and cheese. The atmosphere is very casual. The only disadvantage of the place is one bathroom, and it's shared. I would go again, this certainly is a very nice West Midtown hang out spot.
