I have been here before and didn't really like it the first time, but everyone deserves a second shot. The first time I went there with 2 of my college friends and the place was so loud, we had to shout above one another to hear eachother. The nachos were good, but the guacamole was not good and the salsa tasted like it was from a can. As a native southern Califorian, this was just not acceptable. My burrito was OK, but Chipotle is so much better. The portion of meat to everything else was small and overall, disappointing. My friend got the shrimp dish and it was overcooked & rubbery. The margaritas were cheap which is a bonus, but if you are hungry and don't want decent food, then go elsewhere.

Will never return. This place is a mess - disorganized. Food is low quality and granted, prices are cheap but you still expect better decent food since this place got a decent rating. Proceed with caution.

Unless you only want to eat their salsa, don't waste your time. The plates are small and all four of our dishes were bland. The tomato-based sauces were sour and the meat was overcooked. You can't make mexican food simply by sprinkling cilantro on top of everything. Loved the salsa, but that's not worth another visit.

My husband and I ordered delivery from here during a shift at work and will never again! My enchilada "meal" contained one tiny corn tortilla folded over a little pile of ground beef, without even the rice and beans that were supposed to be included. My husband's tacos were, in his own words, "pathetic" and came with maybe a half-spoon each of rice and beans (heck, at least they remembered them in this one). Our total with delivery was over $27 for what "might be the most disappointing mexican food I've ever had." Also included a teeny tiny baggie of chips (thank god or I might starve), and not a single utensil or napkin. To make it through the rest of the afternoon, I will be eating a dry toaster-pastry stashed in my desk drawer, and won't be nearly as disappointed.

I, Being a NYC Concierge sent people here until guests came back to say that they got two spoonful of chicken, beans, and rice and were shocked to have to pay $9.95 for a brunch that left them hungry. I went to check it out and they were right! I would not go there again during the weekend! Mon-Fri lunches are good and under $10.00 per plate but the weekend is not the time to go! The waiter felt so bad they kept sending salsa refills, the service was good and the bar was busy. I found it to be amusing that a mexican restaurant would serve less than 3 tablespoons of rice and beans, this place does not have mexican mentality!

At Tacocina they use very good ingredients which separates them from the run of the mill Mexican restaurants. They're portion sizes are a bit small leaving you wondering how your $14 dish didn't fill you, but they do a great job of not using excessive amounts of oil and allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves. The food is a bit bland, but simply ask them to spice it up and you'll be very happy. The service and atmosphere are good, but one major complaint i would have is that their chairs are VERY uncomfortable. Their wooden straw like chairs that leave a lot to be desired.

Food was ok but my side dish was cold, I asked to change and it came after I finished half my dish and came out cold again! The drinks arrived after the food, we were so close to the table next to us which really interfered with our conversations , the frozen margaritas were ok but the service was really poor. I don’t know what to say I was a bit shocked because we ate in few NY spots and this was really one of the worst in so many levels. The only positive side was the interior which was very pretty but just to take pictures
