    Not so good

This place is definitely where people come when Bonita is too packed, I'd say. Our food took 50 minutes to come, and came 15 minutes after our unfriendly waitress said it was "ready and coming out right now." It was pretty bland, bougie, east-coast Mexican food. Not the worst food around, for sure, but definitely not the best. They are pretty generous with avacados in burritos, which is nice. The place is very cute. But if you're in the neighborhood, I would suggest that you go elsewhere

    Great Cali-Mex

Beg to differ w/ previous reviewer - we think Taco Chulo is da bomb! Way cool atmosphere, great vegan options, the horchata is *fresh* (not watery), fish taco is wonderful. Taco tortillas made fresh on the spot; all the ingredients fresh and organic; presentation sublime. Fun DJ on weekend nites. Delicately spiced and flavorful burritos. Very creative menu.

    Disappointing

I had heard good things about this place, but was thoroughly unimpressed with the ordinary, flavorless food. The service was nice and friendly and it is nice that they apparently use organic, high quality ingredients, but that doesn't make up for the fact that the "seared pork" was boring and the horchata was watery. I'm disparing of ever finding good mexican in new york.
