Hey, there's great food here such as everywhere else who uses pepper, coconut milk and little creativity. The dishes, yeah, are in a reasonable price for manhattan, it's a great place for friends and family, not too much of a romantic place, the music is cool, matchs the place, but wait a minute..., yes, the most important, I just went there last friday and there were this new hostess, man, she's twice better than J. Lo and G Bundchen together, man, she could be a top model. So, if you don't like the food, you can watch this beauty work, by the way, all the service is good.

I love this restaurant so much and have loved it since they opened a few years ago. The most exquisite table bread, wonderful wonderful food..The staff and owner are warm and engaged. I can't say enough..just divine!

we came peak time friday night, and said they could get us a table in 30 mins. about 25 mins later we were seated. foi grois was excellent and our main courses were great as well. i will definitly be back.

I'll start off by saying that the table bread (baked in the Taboon Oven and sprinkled w/sea salt, rosemary, and drizzled w/Olive Oil) is the BEST table bread I've ever eaten at any restaurant of any kind (steakhouse, italian, etc.). The hummus is delicious as well, as are the lamb kebabs. HOWEVER, Taboon is a bit pricey, and it's not as if you're getting overly generous portions either as a main entree, vs. other Middle Eastern restaurants in the city. This place is a bit trendy, not gonna lie. The wait staff is young and very friendly. Either way you slice it, the bread is good, but your meal does come at a bit of a price.

I took my friend here for birthday dinner. I had made a reservation. I spoke with the hostess on 3 occasions prior to arriving to make sure they knew it was a birthday dinner. I was told they would put a candle on his dessert. You guessed it, no candle on the cake. When I spoke with the hostess I was told I was supposed to remind her when I got there. I saw the note on the computer about the candle when I checked in. Whats the point of calling ahead then? In addition, we were seated at a bad table in the back by the bathroom. Needless to say, my first impression of the staff was not so great. My friend did get the candle after he ate most of his cake but what can I say, I wasnt very happy after planning ahead and spending $140. Food was good, experience bad.

Six of us shared mezes and two bottles of red on Nov 11. Yes, portions were small, but packed so much flavor that size didn't matter. Three ordered and enjoyed the pumpkin soup. Octopus salad, crabmeat salad, scallops, humus and tzatziki, foccacia - all tasty and beautifully presented. Only one dessert ordered - warm date sponge cake served moist and warm. Luscious. Hostess and staff could not have been more gracious or accommodating. Only complaint - dim lighting made it difficult to read the menu.

I am no stranger to Taboon. I have been going since they opened a few years ago. I always had great service and good food. That being said, I will never set foot in there again. I brought a friend whom had never been few nights ago and right off the bat the hostess was rude. We didn’t have a reservation and she was pressuring us to be finished and out the door in an hour and a half. It took forever to get our food and the waitress never thought to apologize or let us know why it was taking so long. When it finally came, it was so salty I didn’t even want to finish it. For the amount of money you spend for a meal there, it is not worth your time and energy. This is the first time I’ve ever thought to post a review. I wanted people to know that this eatery is on a decline.
