Stopped in for a quick nosh - but the service was slow - but the food was excellent. I'd never come if I was in a rush -- but all in all for the fair price and generous portions - it was worth it!

The food is ok. I have never experienced service like this. They never answer their phone. I ordered delivery a couple times, it took them over 2 hours to get it to me. Never again. I do not recommend them.

I went to Joey Thai for pickup pad thai and pad kee mao since it's right around the corner from my friend's place. The place wasn't too pretty (acceptable, but not really a place you'd choose for the ambience), but the noodles were quite good. Also ordered the crab dumplings (hoi jor), which i'd never had before, but they looked a lot like the tod mun pla (fish cakes) i'd had in the past. Crispy, good. Nothing exceptional, but reliable, tasyt, and i'd order from here again. If you want another low key thai joint in the 30s to dine in at, try Pad Thai on 8th/31st.

Last night, we ordered from here for our first and last time. Our already slightly charred spring rolls arrived coated in sauce because the sauce spilled somehow en route to our apartment. The Tom Kha soup was relatively good with the exception that the shrimp were THOROUGHLY overcooked and quite fishy. The Gang Panang had a great sauce, but again, the THOROUGHLY overcooked and quite fishy shrimp took away from the dish. The Pad Thai, with chicken, had a funky appearance and just wasn't a "clean" pad thai. Also, it came with a lemon and not a lime, so maybe they just ran out of limes!

Don't get me wrong, their lunch specials are amazing deals and the food is typcially pretty good. But the service is painful. We've frequently been one of the only people in the restaurant and stil they'll mess up orders or take forever delivering it to us. I mean how hard is it to get an order right when the staff outnumber the customers 3:1? I'd rather pay more and get my meal in a timely fashion.

Food itself is great, especially the lunch special deal which is worth every penny. But I recommend you take the time to pick up your food or else you will be waiting forever for delivery. If my delivery took 50 minutes, I can only imagine how long it took the delivery person to get the other 6 bags of food he had to the other customers....

The food at Joey is very good, but can be a bit "off" at times. For example, a friend and I ordered dumplings to start, and they were raw and uncooked. When we complained, they took them back to the kitchen and steamed them, and then they were very good. The noodle dish sizes are huge, while the sizes of the curry dishes are very small.
