    Yum!

i really NEVER write reviews...but i work around the corner from here, and i've been getting the SAME thing every time. portions are amazing, and i think the food is excellent. i'm a vegetarian and always get their tofu and mixed veggies with the basil....it's enough food for 2 lunches.. ..really, really YUMMY!

    So so....

Ordered chicken pad thai, hoping for a flavourful dish of noodles. It tasted like it was missing half it's sauce. Really bland...!

    Cardboard Shrimp

My first time ordering from Taan. I order Shrimp Pad thai. The Shrimp is over cooked. Taste like cardboard. The Meesamman Curry is only a few table spoons. The portion is very very small, and the potatoe they use is from a frozen bag of potatoes. Not fresh at all. Yuck. The tofu puff was suppose to come with two types of sauce and only one clear sauce was givien. I will not order take out from them again.

You get what you pay for

Sure, the lunch special is under $10. But the salad is just lettuce with one slice of tomato and some unidentifiable dressing. The soup is basically broth with a piece of broccoli and the springrolls were cold. As for the main course, I ordered vegetables with lemongrass. Though the large container looked promising, it was filled almost entirely with white rice and some carrots and cabbage smushed in on the side. I wouldn't call that a vegetable dish at all. Won't go back.

    Management Change = Great Food

Food was horrible when the restaurant used to be Joey's Thai, hence bad reviews from foodies below. Under New Management, food is surprisingly good, takeout is faster, and you really get your money's worth for lunch. Will definitely return!

    Eh

The lunch special is very cheap for a lot of food. The salad was fine, the soup was NASTY. The spring rolls were good, but completely cold. The pad thai was very good. The service was also really good and fast. It's a good deal for all the food we got, but it all felt subpar, and I probably wouldn't return unless one of my friends really wanted to go back.

A Good Deal at a Fair Price

Stopped in for a quick nosh - but the service was slow - but the food was excellent. I'd never come if I was in a rush -- but all in all for the fair price and generous portions - it was worth it!
