great value
had a great meal and cheep . Close to where we were staying . the decor is not much to look at and sometimes that refects the quality of the food , I was pleasently suprised and went back a second time in less than a week

Great Food for the Price
I saw this place by accident, since I was originially headed to A Desi Diner for lunch, but to find out it was closed and Taan was next door with a great lunch specials under $10 for a main dish and app. The place was busy, but no wait for 2 to sit. Best to get here before 1pm for busy lunch hour. Got the chicken and garlic sauce that comes with white rice. Very good and great portion. The app. spring rolls were crispy and warm. Service was friendly but it was a little slow since there were alot more people than waiters. Overall I recommend this place, since food was authentic Thai, value was great and portion of food served was more than hefty.

the 45 minute lunch that never came
Went to taan for lunch. The place had about 5 parties of two in the place. I ordered a standard pad thai lunch special, and 45 minutes later, still no lunch. I had to get back to work and couldn't wait any longer. 2 parties who came in after me had eaten, paid, and left before I told the waitress I couldn't wait any longer. I can't judge the food due to the fact it NEVER came!

Yum!
i really NEVER write reviews...but i work around the corner from here, and i've been getting the SAME thing every time. portions are amazing, and i think the food is excellent. i'm a vegetarian and always get their tofu and mixed veggies with the basil....it's enough food for 2 lunches.. ..really, really YUMMY!

So so....
Ordered chicken pad thai, hoping for a flavourful dish of noodles. It tasted like it was missing half it's sauce. Really bland...!

Cardboard Shrimp
My first time ordering from Taan. I order Shrimp Pad thai. The Shrimp is over cooked. Taste like cardboard. The Meesamman Curry is only a few table spoons. The portion is very very small, and the potatoe they use is from a frozen bag of potatoes. Not fresh at all. Yuck. The tofu puff was suppose to come with two types of sauce and only one clear sauce was givien. I will not order take out from them again.

You get what you pay for
Sure, the lunch special is under $10. But the salad is just lettuce with one slice of tomato and some unidentifiable dressing. The soup is basically broth with a piece of broccoli and the springrolls were cold. As for the main course, I ordered vegetables with lemongrass. Though the large container looked promising, it was filled almost entirely with white rice and some carrots and cabbage smushed in on the side. I wouldn't call that a vegetable dish at all. Won't go back.
