better than I remembered
We were seated promptly for an 8:30PM reservation. Service was very efficient and it was a very nice crowd. Appetizers were a chopped salad and the tuna tartar...both were very nice portions and well made. Entrees were a steak and the grilled Bronzino...and a side of mushrooms. Very well made and again a very good size. A nice bottle of Sancerre topped off the evening and place to return to in the very near future.

Glamorous Birthday Dinner
i picked this restaurant based on the reviews from this webiste because i wanted to get reservation in advance before i went on my trip to new york. we ate around 930 and the place was packed, so deffinately make reservations in advance. there was good music playing, and friendly waiters. the food was delicious; the fillet mignon was cooked perfectly. the winter special was a great deal; caesar salad, fillet mignon with mashed potatoes and green beans, and creme brulee was only $35! i had a great birthday dinner there and will deffinately return! if you are looking for a fun place to eat, go to the t-bar!

Under the Radar Gem
I have followed the career of owner Tony Fortuna since he opened Lafayette with Jean Georges Vongerichten in 1985. Any customer of Tony's knows that what he creates or developes will have his personal touch, with fine food, at a good value and caring service. Whether we call it Lenox Room, Lenox or T-Bar Steak the room is classy, the crowd mixed, the bar hot and the food terrific and at the right price. The menu is not just focused on fine meat. The cold shellfish platters, tatares of tuna or steak, and all the salads are superb. While the steaks took awhile to get just right, they are now the equal of vertually any other steakhouse. The grilled Branzinno and the Gianonne Chicken are moist and a great alternative. The sides are extensive and very well done. The deserts are fun and delicious. The price is, from my experience 15-20% lower than "classic NY steakhouses. If you need a place on the upper east side and want serious, well done food at the right price, this place is for you. Just what the neighborhood needed
I am a big fan of T Bar. I have lived in the neighbohood all of my life and a place like this is what we have been missing. Everything is very good. There is not a bad thing on the menu. Its very good high quality food at reasonable prices. One of the best crab meat cocktails that ive ever had. I really enjoy myself here and have taken many people to dine here. I have never recieved anything but rave reviews. The service is just ok but I dont think that I expect more from a neighborhood place.

a new staple
A good vibe from the bar and the restaurant since they are both crowded and lively. Service was good as well as the food. Appetizers were a chopped salad and the shrimp cocktail. Both good size portions. Main courses were the chicken and the branzino grilled with olive oil. Both were tasty and made well. This is a nice neighborhood place to return to a lot.

wonderful time!
my husband and i were looking for some where classy and fun to take our friends and we couldnt have found a better place than here! the ladies at the front door were charming and ushered us right to our cute corner table and our server was right there to offer us smiles and drinks and answer any questions we had. the food was amazing, i reccomend the crab cocktail, and my husband and i fought over the last piece of porterhouse. my friend loved her branzino which came highly reccomended by our waitress. the desserts were wonderfully decadent and large enough for all of us to share one. all in all it was a great experience and i cant wait to go back with my honey for a nice romantic dinner (and another chocolate mousse)!
