I have been ordering out from Szechuan Kitchen for years, and even remember when they were located on 1st Avenue in the 70's. Although their present location on 1st Avenue and 80th street is not the most spacious, WHO CARES! The food is always amazing and the delivery time quite speedy! Whether you take out or order in from Szechuan Kitchen, I highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Everything at SK is incredible and we are never disappointed. The delivery is so incredibly fast that I often wonder if they have a kitchen in the basement of my building! The only problem I have with this place is that they don't have Egg Drop Soup on the menu. What kind of Chinese takeout place doesn't have Egg Drop?!

alright, yes, the food is great, generous portions, blah blah blah but WOW the delivery guy is practically at our door right as we hang up the very same phone call to place the order. cash only, and no SeamlessWeb etc, but those in the know where to call for the fastest Chinese food delivery in the UES. Which, come to think of it, probably helps the food taste closer to intended.

Their hot and spicy ginger shrimp has earned them a spot in my phone's speed dial. Their delivery is incredibly fast (< 10 min at most), but if you go there (for takeout only) you'll see they prepare everything to order, no heat lamps or microwaves in the place.

I've ordered from here a bunch of times, and this time I ordered the Chef's Special Beef, Chicken w/Broccoli, and fried rice. The beef was spongy, the chicken was weird tasting, but let me tell you: they delivered the best white rice I've ever tasted. This rice made my evening. The grains were perfectly sized and shaped, the sous-chef must have used the exact amount of water necessary, and it all clumped together just perfectly. This rice could have made even the worst Chef's Special Beef in the world (which I suspect we received) into a culinary and existential delight. I couldn't stop stuffing my face with their rice! Wow, I'm still in long-grained ecstasy. Plus the delivery was fast.
