they forgot about our order and it took so long, and once i reminded them then they rushed the order. The food is only OK.

I eat here with my co-workers about 2x a week. It's so so good. Their regular standard Chinese fair is acceptable but their sichuan food is amazing. Their mapo tofu is very spicy and their braised lamb/beef fillets are hot but none of their food unreasonably so that you can even taste it. I dont understand what the other reviewers are talking about but I think this place is amazingly spicy if you order the right things. and make sure you ask for it extra spicy! BTW i know very few people who can eat spicier food than i can and this place is not about the hottest food in the world, but yummy chinese cuisine that is spicy.

used to be good, no more. they got a big surge of biz from the positive NY Times review and it went to their head. service has gotten REALLY sloppy and portions have been cut by 40% on take out. we work a block away and used to use them regularly, off our approved list as of today.

Place is in a convenient location and nice atmosphere. Food was delicious and large portions worth the price. Shredded chicken in garlic sauce is great but very spicy so beware. Service was good and quick. We ordered soup and dumplings and only complaint was bringing both at same time and maybe dumplings could have been a little hotter. All in all great value and we'll be back!

We recently discovered this restaurant. The food here is authentic and fresh. Chef's specials are GREAT. If you want American Chinese food, this is not the place for you. The spicy beef/pork/fish with napa cabbage and vegetables are great dishes to order, but they are very spicy, so you may want to order them in "mild". The portions are huge. Well worth the money. We will try their take-out menu soon too.

We sat down, with 6 people and didn't look at the menu. We asked the waiter to surprise us. It was marvelous! Outstanding food. We all live in Holland and I never tasted such a good Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands. Not even in Europe!

I was very excited to try the food here after reading the NY Times review. Unfortunately, it doesn't compare to the Szechuan cuisine I've had in NJ at Chengdu 1 or Chengdu 23. I ordered take-out over the phone and was disappointed at the mediocrity. First of all, the place was packed at 12pm, and the poor girls behind the counter could barely keep up with orders and customers. What should have been a 2 minute transaction was a 5 minute hassle. Secondly, the food itself was good, but not amazing. $7 for a mid-town lunch is great, so its a good value. I ordered the double-cooked sliced pork belly with chili leeks. It was tasty...probably due to the large amount of pork fat that I didn't eat. However, the level of spiciness was extremely low. And there was too much chili oil. I got a slight tingle which is disappointing. its supposed to be a hot dish. But no Szechuan Peppercorn flavor at all. I wanted a little bit of numbness. The biggest failings happened around the edges. My brown rice was burnt. Completely unacceptable. And the wonton soup was subpar. The wonton wrapper was thick and the soup itself wasn't salty or tasty enough. It should have been, since it was dark brown and not chicken stock colored..
