great time great service!!
i was at a few weeks ago and sat in the backroom for the first time and had such a great time! id been coming to swift every few months and never noticed that room. it's beautifully decorated. and the service was excellent! two very friendly and funny waitresses that never forgot what i was drinkin and made sure my friends and i were taken care of. After the party i sat at the bar and the bartenders were just as great and personable as the ladies.. great time!!!! def coming back!!

Cheap meal...
I love this place for their $1.00 hot dogs. They rule.

Gret place, terrible waitresses
I went to Swift for a party last weekend and had a great time. Really fun atmosphere, good amount of space for people sitting AND standing, and great beer selection. The waitress for our table was a little flighty and took a while to come back and check on us, but I just went up to the bar when I really needed something, cause the bartenders were great. At the end of the night, though, when I closed out my tab, the waitress came over to me and asked if everything was ok with the service. I was a little confused and then she said "You only gave me a 15% tip. I deserve AT LEAST 20%!" I could not believe it. I was soooo offended! She was not a great waitress to begin with, so I thought a 15% tip was more than fair! Downright generous! But the fact that she and her waitress buddy actually confronted me about it, and then started ARGUING with me about it really made me mad. The two of them were like "I don't know where you are from, but in NYC, you have to give at least 20-25% tip". I guess maybe they get away with things like this a lot when they have tourists in the bar? I don't know. But as a New Yorker, I know that that is total bull! I explained to her that TIP was actually an acronym, meaning "To Insure Promptness", in which case she DEFINITELY didn't earn it, and she started yelling at me. I finally gave in and put a few extra $ on her tip just so she would let me leave, but I was mad. I found out later that she pulled the same stunt with everyone else in my party that night also! (We all left at different times.) I will not go back there again for the pure reason that those waitresses try to cheat their customers.

A warm and charming place.
Just a wee bit of Ireland. Just the place to start off St. Patrick's Day with the guys from E33/L9 on Great Jones. Small, but warm and friendly, and the beer is cold. "Erin Go Bragh !"

This is a bar first and foremost
...and not a restaurant. The pizza I ordered with my beer was edible, but not enjoyable. I guess you shouldn't expect much from a bar in the way of food, but I figured I'd write this anyway in case you didn't know that.
