Great Experience!
I thought this place was great! The wine and cupcake pairings were spot on. Sure.. there are places with better cupcakes in the city, but not many who pair them with wine and beer. Just go for the experience and take your out of towners, they will love it!

Best Cupcake I've Ever Had
I have tried three of the cupcakes here. The pure, the dirty and the crimson. They were all great, but the pure was The Best Cupcake I've Ever Had. I mean ever. The cake (which is usually a distant second consideration to icing) was perfectly moist and flavorful. Of course the icing was the star of the show. I am not a huge dessert person usually, but the thought of this cupcake makes me salivate.

Eh, nice presentation, just okay cupcakes
I have tried almost every cupcake place in the city, these cupcakes are okay, but nothing special. The iceing is WAY too sweet and the cake part it self is dry and tastless.

Best cupcakes in the city....
I've tried practically every cupcake place in the city and the cupcakes at Sweet Revenge are by far the best. The cupcakes are moist, the icing is sweet (but not overly so) and has the perfect texture, and for the adventurous, some wonderfully creative flavors are available. Good drinks, nice atmosphere, a must try!

Do not try the red velvet
First off, $3.50 for a small cupcake is pretty pricey. If you're going to charge that much, they better be good. We had the following, in order from best to worst: 1. Sweet Revenge - This peanut butter cupcake was the best of the 4 we had. It was quite tasty. 2. Dulce de Leche - Pretty good. 3. Dirty - It was decent, but for someone who loves chocolates, it was not good enough. 4. Crimson and Cream - This one is their take on red velvet and it was terrible. Bad enough for me to give this place 2 of 5 stars. It literally tasted like they dropped a whole stick of butter into this one single cupcake. We weren't sure if that's what the recipe called for or if it was just a gross one-time error. But this was enough to put us off from ever visiting this place again.

Eh .. better cupcakes elsewhere ..
I guess in NYC you get spoiled by great cupcakes. These aren't bad, but there are just a lot of better ones. These are kinda too sweet on the top and just nothing special on the bottom. Very cute space though .. good for a date. The cupcake just isn't very good.

Will not return
I have tried almost every cupcake in the city and this is one of the worst! My biggest complaint was the icing...it tasted 'oily'. This was definitely not real buttercream icing. Other ingredients must have been substituted for butter which is cheaper but affects the taste.
