sour not sweet
ive been going to sweet melissas for the last two years. i happened to stumble upon it while walking in the area. when i was there they had paninis, which were worth the money that i spent about 13 dollars. and they were delicious. now all they have is quiche. which is not very filling and the other choices dont sound that great either. the dessert is ok. i mean its really expensive 6 dollars for a mini banana cream pie! the place is cute but not worth the money you'd spend. BRING BACK THE PANINIS!!!

Great stuff
I happened to come by this place when walking along Court and then found the name familiar. I remember I saw the owner on Martha Stewart not too long ago (and she was there when I was there). I can't say anything bad about it -- it was a cute place and the wait staff was very accommodating even though we just ordered dessert -- we were told we were welcome to sit down instead of getting it to go. The almond bread pudding and vanilla egg nog was very good. I would definitely check it out again sometime, and to try some of the brunch items too.

Mediocre at best
Went to the store in Park Slope. Everything looked so delicious. Not so. The cupcakes were very dry with too much icing. The croissant seemed quite stale. The service was harried, unhelpful & generally miserable. For the prices they charge I would expect much more.

Quiche is not recommended
I only tried the quiche here and it was not good. If the quiche is any indication of the rest of the food, I would stay away from this place. The service was subpar as well.

You Can Do Better
I went there with my spouse and got the bread pudding. After much waiting it was served cold and without the raisin sauce. I asked them to warm it up and for some sauce. They took it back and after 10 minutes and a reminder I finally got it back with sauce, but it was microwaved to death. It turned into rubbery yuk. I didn't go there and pay that money for microwaved baked goods. Gross.

Valentine's Day Disaster
I'm a neighborhood person and have been there many times and decided to take the family there for Valentine's Day desserts. Never again. They were out of everything early evening, they've been there for 10 years, they should know to do extra baking for Valentine's Day. They told us we could only have bread pudding or ice cream. We don't like bread pudding so we got ice cream, which we never got there before. For the $8-10 they charge for them, it was too small of a serving, with hardly any butterscotch or fudge sauce on them. On the way in we saw pies and cakes on the other side in their take out window, but yet we were told that we couldn't order those to have at the tables. What kind of nonsense is that? Especially since the 2 darn storefronts are connected to each other! Imagine being told you can't get something at the table but there it is right in the take out display case - that's stupidity. We waited 10 minutes for menus, then after another endless wait and constant reminders we finally got our beverages and then more waiting for the ice cream. Oh, and the order was wrong but I dared not send it back. There was only one waitress there that was on top of things but too bad she wasn't serving my table. Oh, and the ice cream is not home made, I saw it being scooped out of (Bassett) buckets in the front while waiting for a table. One of the kids dropped the spoon so after trying to get another one for a few minutes we gave up and got up ourselves. So in the end it cost $50 for a family of four to have coffee and ice cream, bad service, small portions for the cost. Listen up - we're in a recession so don't insult people with small portions on top of high prices for something like ice cream (that 's not homemade-huge profit margin there so it wouldn't kill your business to throw in an extra scoop for the kids).

Good Food, Subpar Service
Although I like their quiche, I will no longer eat here. Why? They have some of the worst service in Cobble Hill. Every time I've been in, there are about 8 servers milling around, yet none of them seem to work. It takes forever to place an order, get food, or get a check. Very, very bad service. So much so that it ruins the mood. I love their muffins though, so I often pick up a muffin to bring home.
