Great Find
My husband and I were recently in New York to visit our daughter and I always try to find a small, neighborhood type place for at least one dinner. Found Sweet Emily's and had a wonderful dinner! We had two apps, 3 different meals, 2 drinks, 1 wine and 1 specialty margarita at a very reasonable price, just under $100 for all 3 of us. The food was delicious! Emily came out from the kitchen and talked with the customers-she's a lovely woman. As a bonus, the ladies room was large and spotless! Will definitely return on our next trip.

Way better than expected
The food is really good. We were all pleasantly surprised. Good pricing. Everyone found something on the diverse menu they loved. House wine could be a little better. The service is top notch with every waitstaff person (we have been back 3 times already) friendly and good. We are so glad something not geared to tourists (overpriced Italian) is in the neighborhood.

Has a chance
Ok, the bottom line - the food was good, but the decor was ghastly. It looks like they turned off the lights at Rene Pujol, removed all the (1970s) charm and then opened the next day as Sweet Emilys. Please get an inexpensive decorator or you will never survive. The tables with the vinyl/plastic on them are inexcusable and ruin the experience. Invest in some clean white tableclothes or just plain wood. Your food is really good! Good luck!

Worth it!
This place was great, fairly easy to find and we were all satisfied. Good prices too. The menu was very diverse. The chicken fried steak was very good.

Nice find
With so many tourist traps in the theater district, it's a challenge to find a good restaurant with value in the area. While walking around looking for an interesting and not too expensive restaurant, we came upon Sweet Emily's on Saturday night for a pre-theater dinner. I was very impressed. Good service, tasty food, and very reasonable prices. My pork enchilada special was delicious and the ceviche appetizer as well. I will certainly dine here again and hope to see this place become a success.

Fantastic neighborhood find!
I loved this place. I live in the neighborhood and ate here on a whim with a girlfriend. I ordered a burger and it was so tasty. My friend had the chicken pot pie and was also very happy. Service is great and atmosphere is very charming. I hope they stick around.

Great New Place
My wife and I stumbled upon this place on their opening weekend and went back for a second time the following weekend. The food is terrific and very unique. Service is great and the owner, Emily is very nice and attentive. The Bacon Mac & Cheese croquets are amazing, and I would also recommend the sirloin tips.
