Very disappointing
The food quality was poor and more disappointing than other places i have tried before. the food was not fresh. ordered chicken which was too salty and service was also disappointing. I will prefer to go somewhere else next time.

What happened?
I have been ordering from Swagat for years and have always been pleased, but last night the food was really not good. Favorite dishes tasted different -- and not for the better. Anyone else notice a change?

A Really Good Indian Restaurant
We have been going to Swagat for years. The food is terrific, very fresh and the recently-upgraded menu makes it even better. Charming atmosphere, friendly service and a good wine and beer list.

i will strongly not recommend this restaurant
i will strongly not recommend this restaurant to anyone. the food quality was horrible and not fresh. the samosa were frozen and cold from inside. the chicken was too hard to chew and and looked burned. Staff looked tired. i am not gonna try this place anymore.

Best Indian food in town
Swagat is one of my favorite restaurant in upperwestside. I just recently went and tried there crab cake, garlic gobi and there achari tikka kebab. They were all soo amazing, that words cannot describe. The service was amazing and the staff was extremely polite. The atmosphere is very cozy. I extremely recommend it to everybody.

Our Staple Indian Food Source
We have ordered and eaten at Swagat for at least 10 years now, and its been a special spot for our Indian food fix, which happens frequently in our house. We have one gourmet cook in the house who also loves the food. It is a consistently good quality, and the service is excellent in the restaurant (small but cozy) as well as takeout (I was waiting with my dog outside and they took the order by the door and brought the food to me ). The Aloo Papri Chat is one of my favorites-tangy, crunchy, sweet, and flavorful. The chicken has always had a good texture, and the sauces are very tasty!

Not recommended
I am only writing this review because this is the second time I have ordered from Swagat (totally forgetting about my first experience) most likely because of the rave reviews written here, especially the most recent 4. The chicken vindaloo is an absolute horror; it is fluorescent red in color (that should have scared me off to begin with), the chicken is as dry as sand paper, and the sauce tastes as if it came from leftover sweet and sour chicken from a cheap chinese restaurant. The sag tasted out of a box, except worse. The nan was beyond soggy, and the samosas were dry and tastless. All I can say is that both meals were extremely consistent: Wretched. It is a disservice that you people have the ability to post food reviews and have this kind of influence on my life, because either you are beyond clueless, have the taste buds of a raccoon, or are just trying to screw with me.
