The New New Suzie's (Uncle Ted's) to open soon in Greenwich Village Bleecker Street
Dear Neighbors - Get prepared - this time it's a winner - Uncle Ted is about to replace Suzie's as our new local and lovely Asian restaurant. Uncle Ted's, named after it's owner, Ted, promises us what we always had with Suzie's--quality, welcomeness (if there is just a word), lovely ambiance, and comfortable service with food at a reasonable price. Uncle Ted's is opening in the very near future. Here's wishing him the very best - many of us have really missed Suzie's and are looking forward to a happy interaction with Uncle Ted.

New Suzie's - Not Worth the Time or Money
I've been a customer of Suzie's for over 25 years and always found it to be a consistent good food value during that time. However, since the new owners took over it's wholly disappointing. The portions are smaller, the food not as good and the service has slowed to a crawl - almost an hour to be served lunch! No one seems to know what they're doing nor care. It's really disappointing after Suzie's was so good and so reliable for so many years.

spectacularly poor take out
While we tolerated the slow decline after Suzies was sold to new owners, tonight was the precipitous plunge into the culinary take out abyss. Tasteless, inedible rubber chicken that was literally impossible to chew. Not just one piece---but a veritable take out tray. I am sorry to say that we are now done with Suzies.

Still the Best Chinese in the Village
The new Suzie's is open, it's still the same apart from the decor and the staff. But they now all speak English. Food is still good, fast and inexpensive. Shorter menu easier to read. Still the no frill Chinese food that I knew before, but now with just a nicer wall color.

Really fast, really poor food
Ive been living in the village for more than 20 years, and had often ordered from Suzies. Having heard they "closed for renovation" and we're now reopened, I was hoping the once mediocre food would be improved. Sadly, not true-- now its I edible. Oily, tasteless, some dishes undercooked, others overlooked...not easy to ruin egg roll, but they succeed. Even the rice was immature, badly overlooked and mushy. Shame on the reputation of Chinese cuisine. Never again!

Forget the new Suzie's
Sure enough, our beloved local place was bought out. First comes the obnoxious new decor , then the firing of the staff we love, then ( and most IMPORTANT) jack up the prices. The lunch special has shrunk in value and the new management is not very excited by take out orders now, as surely this will now be a destination restaurant for people from elsewhere in the city. Well, I hope so, for your sake, because more than a few who've been coming here once a week for ages have decided the party is over . We loved our old Suzie's. We miss the old menu and the fair prices. Thanks for ruining a great modest little place.

Extreme Makeover Restaurant Edition
I've been ordering take out here for a while, the food is decent and the price: inexpensive, there were some talk that they were closing down a while back, I felt bad. But after snooping around the with the staff not long ago, word on the street is that they got acquired by a Hongkong based restaurant group?! To be honest, I'm kinda looking forward to see what changes will be made. This place deserves new life, it's an institution in the Village. I'll always be back here and I can't wait for Suzie's 2.0
