After wandering around the area for almost an hour looking for a good moderately priced sushi place, we stumbled upon this hidden treasure. The fish was extremely fresh and the philly rolls we like nothing I have ever tasted before!! I usually go for more exotic sushi, but the person I was with was an inexperienced sushi eater, so we ordered more simple rolls. Don't miss this place!

I work for a production company and we ALWAYS ALWAYS go to Sushiya for sushi for our clients and artitsts. I've never eaten in the restaurant but pick up platters and small take out orders regularly. At least 3 times a year they put together beautiful platters for large events. Everything is always wonderful and fresh. The service is so friendly and accomodating. The sushi is affordable and DELISH! Sushiya is a wonderful restaurant. Go. eat in. order out. try them for your next event. It's absolutly great!

This place is shockingly good. It is just a great combination of the freshest sushi ever and a good value. I am constantly surprised by how high quality the fish is here. The age tofu is another one of my favorites. We do not particularly love eating there (it's nothing very ambient), but we get pick up many weeknights!! Try it! It is really very wonderful.

My wife and I went on a saturday evening without reservations and were sat immediately. We enjoyed excellent sushi and rolls, very fresh. Service was attentive without being annoying. Pleasant and unpretentious atmosphere. Great value besides. Would recommend without hesitation.

I come here pretty offen without reservations and they are always very accommodating. It's a great addition to the neighborhood and we love the consistently good food and unpretentious attitude. The Nabeyaki Udon is a must!

Amazing! A find! For many years I've been desperate to find good food at nontourist-ransom prices near the Paris Theatre and the MOMA -- and this is it! Three friends and I showed up at 9:30 (without reso) and it was packed (and noisy - the only negative). The lovely staff had us wait a few minutes, got us a "quiet" table in the back corner and served us excellent Bento boxes. They were also extra-accomodating about changes (I don't eat meat). Miso soup was light and tasty, the fish - super fresh, gyoza -yum. And generous - more food than I could eat in the Bento cornucopia. And SO affordable. Go! You'll love it!
