Really Great and Reliable
Really fantastic and reliable ... came back to nyc after leaving 10 years ago and this place is still has fantastic sushi The combination for 2 (sushi and sashimi) is still fantastic although is not the crazy huge portion size we enjoyed years ago... although I was here once a week back then so maybe we enjoyed a few 'frequent customer' perks, Their sake menu has a great selection. Oshitashi was good but tempura fell short of my high expectations-wasn't bad but I have had MUCH better. Service is good and they do a very brisk takeout business. Food came out very very quickly.

Great value!
Food quality was good, portion size generous, service was pleasant and the bill for 2 came to $40 (including tip), cheaper than what I paid at a famous local sandwich shop (without tip)! =)

Takeout
Went to the restaurant and ordered lunch for takeout. I ordered Crab Shumai, Shrimp Gyoza, and a Salmon Avocado roll. I have been to Sushiya before and did see the need to check the contents of the bag. When I got back to the office, the Shrimp Gyoza was never packed even though I paid $6 for it. If you order takeout, make sure you check what's in the bag.

Home Delivery
The food is excellent and supper fresh. One of the best seaweed salad i have ever had, Maki are very tasty and the seafood salad made with real and very fresh seafood. Definately recomendable restaurant

Pretty decent
I enjoyed this place great atmosphere too. Good sashimi platter and very reasonable prices I look forward to coming back soon.

Great value sushi!!
Everytime I go to NY, I always stop by Sushiya. The food is very consistent and reasonably priced. The restaurant ambience is very good and so is the service. The sushi and sashimi is acceptable. The rice quality could be better but overall is okay for the price.

They Cant Clear Your Dishes Fast Enough
The food is pretty good here, and the prices are affordable. However, the staff is ALWAYS in such a rush to clear your plates away, 90% of the time before you have even finished your food! At a recent lunch, I had to sit with my hand over my salad bowl so the servers couldn't take it away before I was finished!
