Nice expensive sushi, poor service
While the food is good and nicely presented, the price seems excessive for the scarce amount of food and the subpar service that you get. The place is cool, the music great, but the experience gets ruined by the slow and almost agressive way of some waiters. Would never go back there. However, if you go to Chicago, visit the Samba Sushi Rio. They know how to treat people and make the expensive experience enjoyable!

Great Ambience but POOR service
I had dinner at this place couple of times and we always make a reservation, but for some reason hostesses never get their business together. It was my birthday and we had to wait for the table that we had reserved for good 40 minutes. First they made us to wait downstairs at the bar , after 30 min they sent us upstairs and the hostess upstairs told us to wait at the bar for another 20min. For paying such a high price for little portions and getting such low service is not acceptable; this should be corrected.

Slow....s...lo....w....s............low
I'm only giving this review because I hope people would take into consideration that I went to the one that is on the Lower West Side. The place is sooo tiny and now there is a bar attatched to it. The seats were all jacked up and the prices were over the top! We couldnt find the waiter to give us SOY SAUCE! i can't believe that when they serve you a platter of sushi that they don't give you soy sauce? They forgot to bring the drinks. It was too much. Would I go back? Yes, the sushi is to die for! But am I going anytime soon, NO! not until I feel like they've fired all of the slow waiters.

Decent food but pricey!
I took my old boss' wife to this place when she was in town. The waiter was helpful but aloof and seemed more interested in how much each of us was willing to spend rather than what kind of flavors and textures we were looking for. I realize that a certain amount of 'tude is desired and actually encouraged, but it can only go so far. After we agreed on a price ($60/person), our waiter disappeared and we didn't him again until he gave us our check. Different staff served the food, refreshed our water and sometimes even took a drink order! Overall, the food was good but not great. The seaweed salad was notable. Healthy portions of four different types of seaweed were arranged thoughtfully, each with their own light dressing. One of the best seaweed salads I've ever had. A crunchy yellowtail roll stood out but then again, when don't they? My friend said she enjoyed her main dish but that she left feeling a bit unsatisfied. The decor and lighting were uplifiting but the tight table arrangements and frequent bumps from passersby was enough to bring me back down.
