    Ever Declining

When it first opened this joint was a treasure but it's been on a gradual decline since. Overly-accommodating and invasive service has replaced the quality of the food, and the place smells as if it's been wiped down in tempura oil.

Excellent Sushi - Very Very Fresh!

I have eaten at many sushi places in during time an have to admit this is one of the best experiences I have had. First of all the sushi was exceptional and extremely fresh. We ordered a 10 piece Sashimi tuna, cherry blossom, miso, edamame, green tea and the lava cake for desert. The Tuna could not have tasted any fresher or better and was sliced in very generous proportions at least 1/2 inch thick. The cherry blossom was wonderful too. The green tea was a nicely brewed traditional flavored Japanese green tea. The edamame was also just picked fresh very generous portioned and tasted just like edamame should! The staff and manager was extremely friendly and very tentative. The restaurant and Sushi bar was also very clean and fairly new. I have to say this was one of my top experiences for any Sushi place hands down. I have read some of the other reviews and can't even fathom the negative ones. If you are anywhere close by and have a craving for sushi "Sushi Yu" is the place. From now on whenever we visit the San Francisco area we will be eating at Sushi Yu multiple times!

    Overpriced, subpar food.

I've only ever ordered take out, but the sushi is not very good. Even the basic spicy tuna roll had a strange texture, and the spicy whitefish roll was not good. If you want to over pay for mediocre food, this is perfect for you, but otherwise it's worth the trip to the Upper West Side to get good food for the same price or less.

    great delivery place

I usually stick with the basics "Cali roll and spicy tuna roll." Sometime i find that the sushi in other restaurants has stale rice and not fresh veggies and crabmeat. Sushi Yu II has FRESH INGREDIENTS, tasty rolls, and FAST delivery. I live a block away and they delivered in 5 minutes. It was quite shocking =). I also ordered the mochi ice cream and unfortunatly they don't have flavors like mango, but it was still good.

    Great lunch special

Consistently good Sushi. Some of the cooked items are a little blah, but the Sushi is the best uptown. Fresh and made just how you want. Fast delivery and cute restaurant too.

    Great Japanese Food

I dont know what the previous poster was talking about. I have plenty of experience with japanese food throughout the city and this is definitely one of the best restaurants you can find on the island.

    Not recommended

Everything looked and tasted like it was made in a factory someplace the day before and shipped in. The posters and menu were the first indication that something wasn't fresh back there. We asked if they made the dumplings in house, and the waitress pointed towards Queens. Anyone thinking this is good food should be cooking at home more, or at least getting downtown more.
