Best Sushi in upstate Manhattan!
Best sushi restaurant in Washington/ Hudson Heights and Harlem. The staff is always nice and friendly. Love to go there and have sushi while watching at blue planet on their TV. Everything that I tried is great. Tempura, Teriyaki, Sushi. Order the boat is you go with friends. Always great!

Gave up
Ordered a few times and finally gave up on this place. The sushi is either fresh or not fresh at all and fishy tasting. Tired of not knowing what I'm gonna get.

A neighborhood staple.
I have been ordering from and eating in at Sushi Yu since I moved to Inwood three years ago. I've had better, but not at this price (or close to it). Until very recently they were the only sushi restaurant that delivered to Inwood (and still the only one that has an extensive, traditional menu) so I'm glad they've maintained quality in the absence of competition. The service is fast and friendly and the fish is always fresh. It can be a bit noisy and crowded when it's busy, but I love eating there when I can. My only complaint is that sometime in the last year the miso soup became bland, and I stop ordering it. Everything else is delicious, however, and they make me dishes that aren't on the menu if I ask. They even offered me live scallops once! I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for fresh, delicious sushi at a good value in Inwood or the Heights.

Great delivery sushi in the Heights
we love these guys mainly cos they deliver to Inwood. Have eaten in a couple of times - friendly, fine, nothing special. This is not the best sushi in NYC. however it is pretty darn good and I think easily qualifies as best sushi above 120th street!

Not Worth It
The atmosphere and service are excellent, but the sushi itself is terrible. I've ordered sushi from this place three times and have regretted it each time. The third, and final, time I went I did not feel well.

Great Japanese!
We live a couple blocks away & are so grateful for Sushi Yu! We usually get it delivered but have eaten in a few times. Food is fresh & tasty. I LOVE the sushi & personally prefer it over the hot items on the menu (which are still very good but I've had better). However my husband thinks the teriyaki chicken's tasty & always orders it (note, he orders it w/ "less onions, more of the other veggies" on the side 'cause they tend to load those onions on). The sushi is always yummy & fresh; they have a wonderful selection. If you eat in, be sure to check out the chalkboard on the wall w/ the specials - it's easy to miss & they come up w/ some cool ones! Great soups & salads. Service is attentive & friendly. Prices are what you'd expect from a mid-level Japanese restaurant - not dirt cheap but totally fair. Overall, quality food that we order again & again... :)

good generic japanese
The fish is fresh and the service is good. I go there with my two year old and they make me feel comfortable. Delivery service is super fast. Good food and the price is not that bad.
