Best Japanese in the Heights
This is the only decent Japanese delivery in the Heights. It's your standard fare Japanese, but then that's a rarity in the Heights, so go for it. To Celiac Girl -- this place has been around for years, so it's hardly new. But otherwise, I agree with everything you said.

Great new sushi place!
I ordered off of seamless web. I am a celiac which means I can't have soy sauce or miso soup... it's rough. I usually ask for spicy mayo as a side in place of soy sauce. Well I put it on the order form 2 times and they forgot. This happens all the time. I was so pleased with how they responded when I called. The lady was VERY nice and knew who I was and what was going on. They sent over what i needed immediately. The food is great, and if there is some confusion they are really great on the phone. Will def. order from here again!

Nickle and dime!
I've been going here for the past five years and it is what it is--a very mediocre but not bad Japanese restaurant owned and operated by Chinese. But my most recent visit has left me totally flabbergasted. Now mind you, the food here is not great, but it is the only Japanese place in the neighborhood. So it is the captive audience kind of situation. If you want Japanese food, you go here or you go downtown. They should be thankful that they get a good crowd, but my most recent visit left me feeling like they are quite chintsy and ungrateful for their clientele. I ordered an entree for take out from here that came to around $10. No big deal. I went to pay with my credit card. I was told that there is a $15 minimum (something that credit card companies do not allow) and asked to order something else. So instead of ordering something else, I paid cash. Then when my food came I asked for hot sauce with it, to which the counter person obnoxiously informed me that she would give it to me for free this time, but she should charge. I was shocked. Really? Pay for hot sauce? A condiment? It wasn't as if I had asked for free gyoza! I honestly find this kind of service to be so off-putting and offensive that I just walked out and told her to keep her hot sauce. Don't do me any favors and I won't bring my business back to your restaurant.

Love it!
This is the place to get sushi when you are this far uptown! I live in the neighborhood, and have settled on Sushi Yu 2 as my main sushi place. It's close, convenient, and the delivery guy gets to my place extremely fast. Also, the food itself is super fresh and scrumptious, every TIME I order! The service via phone, in person, whatever contact you have with the staff- expect them to always be courteous and on point with their work. Of course, I speak from personal experience as an increasingly frequent customer :)

great for kids who like sushi
We have always taken our kids here and kids really seem to like this restaurant. I love their sushi- elaborate fresh very fresh rolls. I love the lobster and soft shell crab rolls and the octopus salad.. Nothing else in the area compares to the quality. It costs what Japanese food costs-which seems high wish they had a few more less expensive meal specials
