This place looked nothing special from out side. I simply passed by if my friend didn't take me here. There is not much decor or style in the restaurant. There were about 8 tables for two and half of the room is Sushi counter with a chef. He is a very nice looking guy in white with a smile. When we sat down, first they offered Kinpira Bobo. It was light and clean with some red chili. Then two fried fish cakes with grated ginger with touch of light soy sauce. It was soft inside and gave me a huge smile. Next came from Sushi bar. It was fish liver with Yuzu and thinly sliced scallions. It was also amazing. All ingredients worked beautifully. Then we has Chirashi Sushi and miso soup. Items on Chirashi was beautiful;y presented and was tasty. Very authentic!

I love this place! The sushi is always fresh and the shumai is the best in the city. My boy makes some great spicy tuna!

Sushi You is a classic "ana-ba" in the best sense of the term: a hole in the wall with terriffic eats. Even though Manhattan is flooded with sushi-ya, very few are authentic. Sushi You, however, is exactly the type of neighborhood sushi shop you'd find in Japan. Nothing fancy--but incredibly fresh fish, decent prices and brutally efficient service. If you're looking for "fusion" or "experimental" or "peanut butter-and-jelly rolls" look elsewhere...

Sushi You is hands down the best sushi in the area. The service is slow, there is only one sushi chef. There is only one sushi chef for a reason, he's no joke. This place is definitely in my top 3 sushi picks of Manhattan, maybe top 2 alongside Kano Yama. Only time will tell...

I takeout from here all the time and it is the best in the area, I tried going to Tankaka a few doors over and regretted it horribly . The sushi is excellent, very fresh (I was told the sushi chef goes to the fish market everyday and hand picks his fish). And I also like their kitchen menu - katsu, croquettes, and udon are all excellent. I wish they delivered!

they were in a giant rush to take our order, but somehow forgot our food. there's a lovely smiling photo of the owners on the wall, not to be found in the restaurant. despite the fact that there were only a few parties in the restaurant, somehow our bill was mixed up. our wonderful friends and the enjoyable fresh food made up for the above mentioned flaws.

Very fresh and delicious sushi. One of the best I have had. Real crab meat in rolls! Owners are very friendly. Service is good. I will go back for sure and will bring friends there!.
