I am a regular at this sushi place and I was a regular at their previous location on Seventh Avenue South, Despite the non-japanese aspect which I understand can disturb some people, the sushi is always exceptional, especially at the beginning of the week. Furthermore, the prices are extremely competitive and the chefs are very friendly. However, the waitressing team would need some improvement, especially in terms of making the client feel at home instead of some factory. The acoustics remark is right: those window seats are really loud for the other tables.

I used to be a regular. This used to be great but seems like the staff has changed... Anyway, after I complained about the subpar sushi quality to the manager, he did not seem to care.

I love this place...I order delivery all the time and it's always so fast and they're so friendly! I love all the rolls and everything is always incredibly fresh. And the prices are make it all the better.

This is a terrific local sushi place. Menu has great variety, and everything is always fresh. The place is small and some of the acoustics are weird (it is as if the people in the window seat are sitting in your lap from certain tables) but always a pleasant experience. Delivery is fast and courteous.

This is an excellent sushi place. It is low key and has a great environment. The food is very good, the service is friendly and it has a good atmosphere. The value is fine compared to other sushi restaurants, but it is still ridiculous how expensive sushi is in general for how much they give you. Suit yourself, but this is a good sushi choice.

We get delivery from this place at least once a week--the food is always fresh, the service is always courteous and the prices are far lower than at other sushi places of equivalent quality.

Sushi on Hudson is a great local Japanese spot that stands up to the stiff competition posed by the numerous pan-asian offerings in this stretch of the West Village. Nothing much to look at, the tiny unpretentious dining room makes for the kind of place where the servers are always friendly and the delivery guy soon knows your name and your "usual." Check it out for nice fresh sushi and sashimi, and for the non-sushi-friendly diner, great cooked options such as credible teriyaki, the outstanding shrimp tempura roll, and for the indecisive, a bento box with several different entree choices. A longtime area resident, this is my pick for affordable local Japanese.
