You have to love this place! You just don't want the dinner to finish! Sushi is very fresh and exotic. I have never tasted anything like this! It is expensive but it is worth every penny!

Get the sushi omakase and make sure to order the lightly seared foie gras and the cod. Best of the best of the best.

I have a huge sushi game and Gari's omakase is the best in the city, bar none. You have to pay for quality and this experience is well worth the cost.

I order in from this place all the time. The fish is soooo fresh! The quality of the tuna is incredible, tastes just like toro. The delivery takes about an hour as opposed to most Japanese restaurants in the area that can deliver in 30min but its definitely worth the wait. Order from here it's a must!

I don't typically go for expensive sushi (I'm a Teriyaki Boy fan) but the special sushi offered in the chef's tasting menu was incredible. I don't even know what all the different types were, I just know they were all good. Be prepared to pay a pretty penny, especially if you're not the type that frequents Nobu-ish sushi joints (our bill was $68 per person for four people, about ten pieces per person, and it's more for fewer people), but I thought it was worth it and the wait staff is really nice. The atmosphere is not upscale and really homey, which you may or may not like. You can get regular, cheaper rolls, but most people come here specifically for the tasting menu. A west side site is opening soon; maybe they'll upgrade the decor/size for that one.

Sushi of Gari has just about the best sushi I've ever had. Unbelievably fresh and clean tasting; it's the only place on the planet where I'd eat the uni. The atmosphere is kind of cramped and a bit brightly lit for my taste, but it's a small price to pay. The staff is friendly and efficient. It ain't cheap, but you get what you pay for. If possible, go for the Chef's choice. He builds on this amazing variety of tastes, with one thing leading to another thing leading to another. Oh, you'd best make sure you make reservations. Gone are the days when this was a local, neighborhood secret. For years, Zagat's was dismissive. Then it wasn't, then it got harder and harder to eat on demand. D*mn you people and your CAPITAL LETTER reviews!

The atmosphere is nothing special, but the food is incredible. You tell your waitor what kinds of fish you like, and then the chef will create different sushi and sashimi that you've NEVER HAD BEFORE. It's just amazing. We go there at least 3 times a month.
